Our stereotypical expectations from a beautiful blond woman are blown away as soon as she opens her mouth.

Likewise, our expectations from a large alley cat with one bad eye and torn ear are devastated, as soon as Daisy opens his mouth and speaks with reason and insight.

The only thing missing from this one is the very important factoid that the Mexicans, the Hondurans, the Guatemalans, who are coming into the US?

They are Native Americans.

These Spanish colonies never had the huge amount of colonization that occurred in North America. Once they became independant countries, they never encouraged mass immigration from the rest of Europe. And the peoples of these lands, though war was waged against them, did not face the massive genocides seen in the north. The elite of these nations are European, or mostly so, but the poor, the impovershed migrating north? They often have no European ancestry to them.

Both are Mexican in nationality. But only one of them is an immigrant. Ironically it's the one who stayed in Mexico.
