Let's see what Bill has to say after he is afflicted with arthritis or hypertension. Yes, exercise and diet do help these conditions but not always.

Depends on the arthritis. Rhematoid is autoimmune and requires treatment. Osteoarthritis is just wear on the joints and isn't necessarily preventable. Hypertension is a disease of no know specific cause it can be some what managed with beta blockers or ace inhibitors. But diet and exercise are more important.
Why is the government subsidizing corn (corn syrup) that causes diabetes, soy bean (trans-fat)? There is too much focus on treatment than prevention. I am not against treatment but why isn't prevention emphasized?

3. Prevention is fine but some disease can't be prevented |

I agree on the gov't subsidizing corn plus add that allowing companies to pollute beyond what is necessary so they can make more money is disgusting and harms everyones health.
Since I've had arthritis since my twenties diet and exercise help but it isn't enough. It's very frustrating to hear people who are fortunate to have good genes talk down to those of us that don't. I haven't had a pain free day in almost twenty years so I don't want to hear from someone with no health issues to get over it.

4. My life was better on Celebrex |
|
but as soon as the problems with it started to surface my doctor wouldn't allow me to have it.
There was also a stint when the insurance company decided practice medicine without a license and insist I take Vioxx instead of Celebrex - I after several days I developed severe stomach pain and had to stop taking it. The insurance company said it wasn't long enough that I should take Vioxx for several months and log my symptoms, knowing that I would stop taking it and live with the pain or pay out of pocket for the extremely over priced Celebrex.
