who says leave no child behind, now says we can let them and their parents freeze and have no medical insurance to take care of them when that happens. He needs to quit fucking over the people he's supposed to serve and stick his head up his ass to look for WMDs.

7. The sad part is that is not a small percentage... |
|
The GOP's policies benefit or are geared towards the interests of the top 5% to 10% tops of the population. Which means that theoretically upwards of 80% of republican voters actually vote against their own interests.
A lot of these poor people are actually under the impression that they are going to make it, and thus they don't want to tax the rich or enforce saner fiscal policies. Afterall one day they may be part of that select group of people at the top of the earning pyramid, so they don't want to ruin the "party" upstairs. Unfortunatedly they are too uneducated to understand the laws of probability and what those percentages mean.
I always found it fascinating, that for such a shortsighted society... the whole thinking they are going to make it in the future seems to be a prevalent "long range" assumption among many Americans.
Dumb and proud of it... ain't that genuinely a conservative value.

10. How are you missing the big picture??? |
|
More than 50% of America's families aren't poor.
MORE THAN HALF!
(how do you do that sarcasm thingie? :))
On reflection, it's not a good thing when one's reaction to a story like this is facetiousness. I wonder when my capacity for outrage became depleted.

12. Have to agree with this characterization of Harry Reid |
|
In fact Dems in this Congress have let the repukes just about walk all over them at every turn. How come Reid is not on every Sunday show going after these people hard? Or on any other show for that matter. The leaders of the Dem party are trying their best to play nice nice and it's just not effective. Getting your message out is really key and a Senate majority leader is in a great position to do so, but Harry is just too low key for me. I want a fighter, a bull dog out there making life really miserable for these republican thugs.
