You know the day will come when Americans will choose to forget about this awful war, like with Vietnam. They will sweep it under the rug, along with the critically wounded vets.

9. we have not sacrificed one thing. |

and yes, some people have very short memories. Shameful to those soldiers that they be treated this way, all for a bunch of lies.

The famouse "Tube" speech given as he runs through the audience & then collapses on the stage at the end. What genius it was then and it's amazing how relevant that movie 30 years ago still is today...
Biden would eat Guliani (the likely GOP nominee) for breakfast even more than Kerry did Bush in the debates, bring that shit on. If he runs, especially with Dodd or Kucinich (more folks who speak with a backbone and not shifting like the front runners) as VP choice, or one of them with him as VP as the nominee it would work well.
It's not likely. Forgive me. Hillary isn't different enough & furthermore, when she get's 'mad' it's shrill and the idiots in America see a 'bitch' vs. an angry woman. I hate that it is a system like that. But like Kucinich and Dodd, Biden's got a way of making anger convey as important. IN SOME WAYS even better than the two I have just mentioned...

4. A woman can be effectively angry |
|
I've seen Barbara Boxer do it, but Hillary when she's angry she comes across as the domineering teacher or mother from our childhood, and it makes people uncomfortable. Also she tends to get defensive which is perceived as weakness in both men and women. Rudy got defensive after Biden's debate remarks and it made him look foolish and insecure.
The best I've seen Hillary so far was after her comment about "bad men". She smiled and laughed and looked very real.

A woman can be...effectively. I know many who fit that style. We on the left tend to notice nuance. The right tend to be cavemen & a few who control/profit from them. It's that simple.
"Hilary scream like teacher who flunk me, Ugh no like her. Ugh no like Barack, him have name like terrorists & not have my skin color. Ugh think Kucinich too puny, him wife too tall. John Edwards too pretty. Richardson is 1/2 evil people from Mexico Ugh no like. Ugh like Gulianni! Gulianni wanna blow up stuff. Ugh like blowing up stuff". We laugh but likey 2/3 of the right wing voters aren't far from that mindset. Too many of them will get out there and vote too.
Biden has a way of speaking with authority, and to a lesser extent, Dodd. They're unique in that they tend to get respect from the 'macho' idiots as even Gore/Bill Clinton didn't, and Kerry could, to a lesser extent (when he used his backbone). Biden takes the cake tho.
There isn't a candidate I can remember who has his style of intellectual brutality. He has a way of making the listener think "he's probably right" more often than many. Even Obama's 'charm' falls short of the authorative style Biden weilds.

6. You've really summed it up well |
|
Biden comes across as very intelligent and down to earth at the same time. His style appeals to both men and women. He can explain complex issues in simplistic language without sounding condescending.
As for Obama's charm, that might have worked at a different time, but right now strength and confidence are what people are craving.

Glad to be here. Now what the heck can we do to get Biden higher status. His speeches, are usually all every bit as great. Everyone who sees 'em, even the right wigner trolls on You Tube have to say 'this guys is one serious mofo' even if they don't agree with his politics. That's that kind of appeal Reagan had winning moderate Democrats. Biden could be doing the same in the general election with moderate Republicans... I think Dodd or Obama would be great choices as running mates. Or Edwards. But I'm leaning towards Obama for the 'youth thing'...

11. I firmly believe that if Biden were to make it to the Top Tier, he'd draw ahead |
|
of the other candidates. He grows on you. And as you said, if he became the nominee, he'd pound the R nominee into a bloody pulp. Yep, bring that shit on.
If you haven't, please recommend this thread to get it to the Greatest page, then more DUers will see it.
And our first concern outside of DU is IOWA. If he makes a splash there and gets media attention, I foresee an exponential explosion of interest and support resulting.
The man just amazes me.
We're so happy to have you here!!
