Here is Keith's latest commentary, on the Speech Newt Gingrich gave about how he envisions the suspension of our 1st Amendment rights.

Note how he ends with his idol E. R. Murrow's trademark "Good night and good luck." He's very aware of how important one brave, eloquent voice of integrity can be in turning the tide against the lying bullies.

16. With every Gingrich quote I kept thinking 'Hitler'...

I'm hesitant to even use the comparison in regards to bush, but those quotes kept reminding me of Hitler over and over. Gingrich as pres is a scary idea. I would pack up and leave the country then.

this would be greatly appreciated and savored on DU in the morning! Isn't KO wonderful? His writing is Constitutional-esque in language. So nice to hear intelligent words and not being talked down to for a change. Wish * could learn to speak....especially when he's away from the country.

Republicans have found that their ideas are so un-American, so pathetic, so repugnant, the only way they can gain power is through hysteria, and the only way they can keep it is through shutting down free speech in America.

No wonder the Republican Party is shrinking fast, and the faster they shrink the more shrill the remaining true-believers will become.

The terrorists want to destroy America.

They do not have the power to accomplish their goal. Only we can do that to ourselves.

If Gingrich were to succeed in his quest to erode the right to freedom of speech in America, he would in effect be aiding and abetting the terrorists.

I would propose that Gingrich be arrested and held as an enemy combatant, except for the fact that I don't want to see anybody's rights be denied -- even his.
