In 1990, a down-and-out grocery bagger in Arizona conviced the ABC news magazine 20/20 that he was the adult "Buckwheat" from the Little Rascals. However, soon 20/20 had learned of their error from the outcry of former members of the Little Rascals and fans of the show that the real "Buckwheat", William Thomas Jr., was dead for 10 years. In this short seqment from "A Current Affair" host Maureen O'Boyle has both Mr Green and George "Spanky" McFarland, who was on hand to expose Mr Green as a fraud. This incident forced the resignation of a 20/20 producer and a lawsuit against 20/20 by the son of William Thomas Jr.

I was just trying to describe this SNL skit to my children. I had to send the link off to a childhood friend and my "baby" brother ... I can remember watching this originally air with them.

4. It is hard to describe old SNL skits, back when SNL was still funny

IMO the mid-80's, especially 84 and 85 were the best years of SNL.
