'Remind Congress to uphold it's Constitutional obligation to open an investigation against anyone who has committed crimes against it's country.

For more specific information on the Articles of Impeachment of President George W. Bush, Vice President Richard B. Cheney, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, and Attorney General Alberto Gonzales - please visit:

www.afterdowningstreet.org
www.impeachforchange.org
www.votetoimpeach.org

These sites can help to find your Congress member's contact information.

The voice speaking in this message is Seymour Hersh (Pulitzer Prize winning journalist for the New Yorker) - taken from one of his lectures at the ACLU.

Criminals stand trial for their crimes. Period.

Richard Nixon was impeached 2 years after a landslide election victory—for crimes far less incriminating than the Bush Administration. In 1973, 50,000 telegrams to Congress forced them to begin impeachment hearings.

Please visit these sites to learn more specifically about the cases against them and how you can help make sure they don't dodge Justice. This is our country, and we can force the House to Impeach them with your help. It's time to relearn what this country's ideals are based upon.

5. I think I'm about to do a 180 on the impeachment issue . . .
I've been against impeachment for a variety of practical reasons -- it will distract from other critical issues, Congress can't walk and chew gum at the same time, by the time impeachment ran its course Bush would be out of office anyhow, there won't be enough votes in the Senate to convict, etc. . .

in recent days, however, I've begun to rethink my position based on one single fact -- if we don't impeach, BushCo has two years to wreak absolute havoc throughout the Middle East and anywhere else that strikes their fancy . . . they'll simply ignore Congress, and frankly I don't believe that Congress will have the balls to cut off military funding . . .

so despite the very real practical concerns, I'm fast becoming convinced that they are superseded by the very real possibility that, if left in office, Bush could (and likely would) initiate irreversible actions (like starting World War III) if he remains in office for two more years . . .

the evidence of war crimes, crimes against humanity, and corruption is overwhelming, and once exposed in formal hearings (that the media won't be able to ignore), the entire country will clamor for his removal . . . and my hunch is that he'll resign rather than see the impeachment process through . . . then we can prosecute before the appropriate US and international courts . . .

I'm starting to believe that we MUST get Bush and Cheney out of office and away from the little red button -- no matter what it takes . . .

8. I support impeachment
I also did not support impeachment. However, this president has continued to act as if he has the right to make all decisions without taking into account facts, truth, or honesty. He cares nothing of the opinions of the public and ignores laws and the constitution he swore to protect. He has continued even though elections validated the will of the people. He is like a spoiled child who never grew up does as his desires to include death and destruction.
He is very damaging and very dangerous and I am convinced that he must be impeached for the sake of this country.

If he is so committed to this war let him send the twins and experience the worry, fear and horror so many American families have experienced.

He has destroyed Iraq and continues to order the bombing, further destruction and death of the Iraq people. And claims God supports his actions. Not my God.

11. I think there's a Democratic personality trait
that makes us look thoughtfully at this issue, especially post election day. We dissect and worry about what the impeachment impact may be. I think we also have in the back of our heads...what if it backfires and becomes a factor in '08? Should we be thinking politically, though, when people are dying because of a lie?

The point that you made in your post, and after watching the video....the question becomes...How can we NOT hold this pResident responsible? He LIED us into a war that has killed hundreds of thousands!!!! This is criminal, and needs to be prosecuted. And the war is just one of many offenses - eg NSA spying & MCA and the death of habeas corpus.

This thing is still developing and morphing, unfortunately. We could end up in an escalated conflict spilling out across the entire Muslim world. If it isn't already World War 3, it certainly could be.

I'm hoping that when the new congress opens investigations (which I believe they will) and in the natural course, like the domino theory, will lead to impeachment.

Remove the cult!!!!

12. agreed, at the risk of being flamed; an 'excess of civility' perhaps...
this has been a game the opposition does not in the least show up to play...they show up to WIN!, and clearly so in that they'll do & say everything to accomplish just that, watching their talking heads, Susan Collins for one, portray dems already not being able to deliver on what they have said they would vis-a-vis the enactment of "all" of the 9/11 recommendations...one such being the reorganization of congress itself, one that Collins herself, it would be my guess, would be less likely to enact but there it is; there they are, still talking, still usurping, still obfuscating; still being less than civil in the guise of civility itself which i find predictably bizarre

i do agree further that these matters are morphing, perhaps with a handful of fresh & poignant discovery proceedings will be self sustaining therefore...god-speed-dems-to-the-congress, here's hoping we will not shy from what needs to be done not only for america, but for the world

my sense is that there will be no need for a shrill delivery; steady, truthful, purposeful exposition is plenty America Enough imo

g.w. bush has not lost Iraq alone though he has done that spectacularly and in the full & knowable character that is g.w. bush; he has lost the entire ME, and a world filled with Muslim believers
