8. So does NM
Those loons came here to protest the minimally gay friendly policies of the university. Two guys who admitted to a reporter they barely knew each other went into a big soul kiss right in front of them. The Phelps clan left.

I miss Michael Moore. I wish he'd come back to TV. Remember the gang of Puritans? Was that outside Asscrack's house?

19. Ah, how quickly I forgot
I didn't have cable at that time, only saw a clip online.

I still wish he'd come back to TV. It may be his medium, he's brilliant.

Edited on Mon Dec-04-06 11:32 PM by FVZA_Colonel
but Fred Phelps looks just like Henry Kane from Poltergeist II and III.

9. Ironically, the guy who played Henry Kane in Poltergeist II. . .
was pretty much the exact opposite of Fred Phelps. See <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Julian_Beck>.

Julian Beck, anarchist & vegetarian, was one of the founders of the Living Theatre. He was married to another actor in the Theatre, Judith Malina, but "Beck and Malina were life partners in an open marriage, and Beck had a long-term relationship with Ilion Troya, a male actor in the company."

10. Dang, I miss seeing that TV show
Such anarchic, funny and poignant work from Michael Moore. Phelps thoroughly deserved that thrashing.

14. Being from Kansas...

And as this truly is a great state I have never been more disgusted by a human being then the Phelps clan. The good thing about living here, like I've always said, is that there is an off chance a house might land on some if not all of them.

But Gods, I have so much more love for Michael Moore then I have ever had before. Gods bless him!

not even if it's a slant 6.

Moore really has a unique way of getting his point across. I hope we see more of him.

24. This is exactly how to get rid of these creeps.
Don't get angry at them. They feed off of hatred and anger. Laugh at them. They can't take it.

27. Phelps's hypocrisy is incredible
"Using that poor dead boy" for propaganda? I thought gays deserved whatever they got and worse, in his book. If had wasn't for his hate, there would never have been such a huge controversy.

28. "Oh Mercy, here come da fags!" It's a shame that Moore's show...
...isn't on TV anymore. That piece had me cracking up. And every bit of this comedy piece was dripping with important social, cultural commentary. Can you get much better than that?

30. More on the Branch Fredphelpsians...
One of the special targets of Pastor Fred and his All-Hate Band has been the Episcopal Church (or, as they call us, the Episcopal Whorehouse of Queers :eyes: ) and its local parish, St. David's of Topeka. The Branch Fredphelpsians got their start picketing St. David's, and have been doing it on a regular basis for over a dozen years.

On November 11th, St. David's was gutted by a fire later detemined to be arson. Coincidence?

31. Wrong tense. "Once upon a time Moore let Phelps have it."
This is just resurrecting an old piece Moore did years ago. It's important to note that Moore can't get any projects at all on TV (aside from HBO running his movies, that is) while Phelps gets regular press and attention wherever he goes.

Honestly, folks, there's nobody PRESENTLY standing in the way of Phelps or his Brownshirts. Much as their courage is to be admired - they're more daring than any of the Democrats before the midterm elections - neither Stewart nor Colbert have talked about the guy recently or gone after him. Nobody is willing to confront him - and I think it's fear, not "discretion" or "giving Phelps enough rope to hang himself," that's the reason.
