2. I miss Frank Zappa. He was one of the first celebrity I recall that consistently |
|
pointed out the hypocrisy and hype that has now become our way of life. He warned of the growing police state, the abdication of our "leaders" to the mindless pressure groups like PMRC, and the corporatocracy.
I seem to recall that there was some politicians wife that jumped on this bandwagon...:eyes:

3. Man, was this prophetic: |
|
Ling: "Frank Zappa is continually trying to put the burden on the parents."
And that was the beginning of the decay of conservative politics when they started abrogating their personal responsibilities and started putting it on the government. Without question, this is why we see such hideous behavior out of the GOP today.

Al and Tipper Gore sent Frank a card when he got sick. I think the Gore's and Zappa's became friends over this. Frank mentioned this in the Playboy interview when they gave him the honor of being the only one ever to get the Playboy interview and Rock Artist of the Year concurrently.
When Frank died his widow Gail sent $200,000 to the Democratic party some time in 1993 or 1994, I think?
There might have been pols jumping on the Zappa bandwagon down in Maryland. He also testified down there eat the state level and some state reps may have become chummy with him.
The BFEE zapped him with death rays when 60 Minutes was filming him at the First Show of Tour 88 in Albany. The segment never ran, but I strongly suggest that Jim Baker had him offed. Vaclav Havel made him a Czech Trade Minister and then rescinded because of Baker's request. Baker's wife along with Tipper spent alot of time debating Frank, as he was literally EVERYWHERE this issue was being discussed at that time.
