3. I recall reading somewhere the docu tries not to be ideological

Still, the guy himself and several others think he's a hero, and that does come across in the docu.
No really a problem imo, since it still shows how fighting US wars without US troops is a (covert) part of US foreign policy. Without knowing anything else this docu makes one wonder how many of such wars have been fought without them being reported as US wars.
Also it is understandable from the locals' point of view that they'd want to resist communist rule, since communism-as-we-know-it is not exactly a picnic either - which in turn does not mean that the locals are not being used as mere pawns on the global chess board.
