He twice escaped from labor camps, served in the Underground, and was ultimately one of those saved by Raoul Wallenberg.

I'm sure that over their many years of service to the people of San Francisco, Nancy Pelosi and Tom Lantos did get to know each other very well, and that this is a personal loss to her.

Incidentally, I think Pelosi is probably doing the best she can with the circumstances she has. Regardless, this thread is about her tribute to Lantos, and shouldn't be yet another venue for bashing and trashing her.
