2. Obama has run a racist campaign from the start |
|
by allowing his surrogate to twist every word Bill and Hillary said into racist overtones. Let's be honest, most of the black voters voted against Hillary out of racist reasons. It must be heart broken for our first black president Bill Clinton to see how the race trumps everything.

8. He clearly knows how he hurt Hillary and himself. What an ass. |
|
I'm glad this happened because now I have no respect for him whatsoever. None.
A governor of any state should never make such gratutious and inflammatory statements.
He really cast an ugly shadow over all the people in his state and insulted everyone of them.

13. Except that it's true - there ARE some racists in Pennsylvania, as there are everywhere |
|
Nobody knows that better than Ed Rendell.
During his first run for Governor, there was one campaign office in a county in PA's Northern Tier that we ended up closing not long after it opened. Why? Because a neo-Nazi organization was making daily phone calls to the staff threating to harm not only them, but "the Jew running for Governor."
Anybody who honestly believes that their candidate is just so good he transcends religious, culteral and racial barriers isn't dealing with reality. There are people all over this country who hate - and hate intensely.

African American candidate. Bigotry and racism in not dead, unfortunatly. The truth must be hard for some people to accept. What BS to try and claim Rendell made a racist statement.

canddidate black, white, male , female--without people coming out of cracks to quickly call them Racists, Sexists--the country is not where we should be on these issues.
The Media shares guilt on this one.

schtick from the Clintons and their surrogates.
Given that this "technique" has backfired on them again and again, I say bring it on!

What did Rendell say that isn't true? Are you defending conservatives? The same conservatives that fill the ranks of the lily white Republican party.

Unfortunately it's a true statement. That doesn't make somebody racist - the media is spinning this one.

15. Philly on one end, Pittsburgh on the other, and Alabama in-between. |
|
PA has (or had at one time, I'm not sure if it's still the case) the highest occurrence of White Supremacist organizations East of the Mississippi. More than any state in Dixie.
Each November, over a million Pennsylvanians arm themselves with high-powered rifles and take to the woods for the first day of deer season - more armed men than there were on BOTH sides of Gulf war 1 or 2.
If I were an African-American, I would be very nervous about driving through the rural parts of PA. Hell, I get worried just driving through with my liberal bumper stickers. These people re-elected Santorum, fer chrissakes!
Just sayin'.

Did you honestly find anything he said offensive? Do you honestly think that all the whities are going to give up their vote to a man of color? Do you honestly think that all men are going to give up their vote to a female??
If the answer to any of the above is "yes", I'd have to label you as totally naive. I'm beyond that, but I can guarantee you that there are thousands if not MILLIONS of Americans that fit this bill.

I want Obama to win but what is wrong with Rendell telling the truth?
If Obama supporters keep crying foul every time someone brings up race you will turn people off.
I live in PA and I know people who said they wont vote for Obama because he is black. Its just the truth. Its wrong but its true.

23. The same people who do this say nothing about the Obama campaign using race with superdelegates |
|
Jesse Jackson Jr., his national co-chair (and presumably others as well), basically arguing now that black superdelegates should vote for Obama because he is black (and if they don't they "may" face a primary challenge). Where are their complaints about that?

21. Well, PA does have the largest number of Klansmen of any state. |

Not exactly something a governor points out during a national interview, but I'm sure he had that in mind when he gave his analysis.
