1. and so on....
Edited on Mon Feb-18-08 07:09 PM by tabatha

Mike and Noam have already done a great job explaining the ridiculousness of the Clinton campaign's charge that Obama plagiarized from Deval Patrick, but I thought I'd add one more point. Obama's already on record as admitting he borrows lines from Patrick (and vice versa). Stumping in New Hampshire last December, Obama said:

"But you know in the end, don’t vote your fears. I’m stealing this line from my buddy (Massachusetts Gov.) Deval Patrick who stole a whole bunch of lines from me when he ran for the governorship, but it’s the right one, don’t vote your fears, vote your aspirations. Vote what you believe."

I look forward to the Clintons' next desperate gambit.

2. That isn't the point. What is "new" about Obama if he is a retread of an evidently average governor?
It also goes to him claiming to have special authenticity, that by implication Hillary allegedly lacks. Let's compare Patrick 1.0's rhetoric with his performance and to get an idea of what Patrick 2.0 would bring.

6. So, I guess you're going to say that Patrick wrote
OBama's 2004 speech?

Maybe they both model each other on each other?
What is wrong with that, if it is a good thing for the country?

3. This is solid evidence the MSM
is giving Obama a free ride. They should have played this video on the news tonight instead of the one of Obama. He has copied everything from Patrick down to the speech pattern. Even the Patrick followers are like clones of the Obama followers. Just how has Mr. Patrick lived up to his rhetoric?

4. The first thing he did was buy a Cadillac and 11k worth of new drapes on the taxpayer's dime
CHANGE we can believe in!

9. It is quite disturbing. Obama 2008 is Bush 2000.
This does not give me much confidence.

5. Another point he seems to modeled his
whole campaign from Patrick's. Why is it that the state that elected Patrick didn't vote for Obama even with Sen. Kennedy's and Kerry's endorsement? Could it be they have discovered Mr. Patrick didn't live up to his rhetoric?

7. No, Obama overcame a huge deficit between
himself and Clinton. There was just not enough time to overtake Clinton in both MA and CA.

However, Patrick and the Kennedys contributed a great deal to Obama closing the gap.

8. Yup. They know how empty "hope and change" and the messianic cult of personality thing are

10. This is irrelevant to me, but Maureen Dowd might write a novel out of it
Dowd loves a script: In her world, Gore was a liar. Hillary was racist, and Obama may become a copycat. She's vile and sticks to a script.
