1. Cool - I think Nicole Kidman is an incredible actress. I know she'll do a
fabulous portrayal.

2. No chance of pre-election release ...

I guess there is not chance of pre-election release at this date. For all the lying that the Bush's did about this topic, they deserve to be flailed. Those scumbags on Faux came out over and over again claiming that Valerie Plame was not under cover. Then they have the nerve to accuse Democrats of being weak on national security. These guys were willing to sacrifice entire networks of covert assets to satisfy a political grudge.

3. "Loosely Based..."
Edited on Tue Feb-19-08 04:12 PM by LiberalLovinLug
You know what that means. It will be some fictional president probably called Krinton or Clintle.
They'll re-focus the storyline on the love relationship of Valerie and Joe.
Girls sends boy away to Africa in order to tempted into an affair.
Boy comes back, writes a scathing piece in the paper on the governments deception, with a slant towards portrayal of the generic Big Bad Government, his anger mostly fueled by his wifes infidelity.
President Clintle outs Valerie through the "liberal press" who don't care about national security.
In the heat of all the attacks, Boy defends Girl and they find each other again and their passion is rekindled.
The End.

Either that or if they use Bush and Cheney they will be portrayed as peripheral characters, with the blame going to some fictional "Washington insider" bureaucrat with a vendetta.

What sucks is that with it being termed "loosely based" they can alter the plot and add or subtract characters. What that means is that it gives the Reich Wing the ammunition it needs to call it all rubbish and made up liberal fiction. They can throw the facts out with the bath water.

They don't have the guts to make a version based entirely on the true story. Why wouldn't THAT be watchable enough? I certainly don't need any extra fluff to make me go see it. In fact if the words "This is a True Story" came on screen beforehand, it would ADD to the experience.

4. Damn
Couldn't they pick an actress that at least has blood in her veins?
