From Hitler to Pinochet and beyond, history shows there are certain steps that any would-be dictator must take to destroy constitutional freedoms. And, argues Naomi Wolf, George Bush and his administration seem to be taking them all.

1. One more
11. Cultivate a nasty attitude in the general populace.

Get them to be nastier than a bobcat locked in an outhouse buzzing with bees. Remove their compassion so they will curse people spanging on the street. Tell them the homeless are lazy or mentally ill, so they will cheer when the police confiscate their shopping carts of possessions. Let hate speech float over the airways unchallenged. Show nasty confrontations on television under the guise of "entertainment". Make sure to charge criminals with multiple counts in their indictments, so they can be facing 750 years in prison if convicted on all counts. Make sure prisons dish out humiliating punishments on a daily basis and do nothing for rehabilitation. Think up "non-lethal" weapons that can be used multiple times to inflict pain on the citizenry. Tell them the economy is great and if they think something is wrong, then it is their fault. If it's humiliating, degrading, or disgusting, dish it out with an extra ladle.

2. Naomi Wolf's book goes into much more detail.

Apparently, she moved from the Beauty Myth to the Freedom Myth.
The next President had better go after all the perpetrators of BushCo Constitutional abuses. If not, they WILL be back to finish the job. The guilty will be from both sides of the ailse, and that should not matter. Much of the legal apparatus is already in place in the form of Patriot and Protect America Acts, as well as executive orders.

For example

3. We need to Impeach and Indict and Jail these treasonous bastards!
We should strt with the Bush Enablers by Tossing Nancy Pelosi out for not upholding her oath of office! And this lady could do it Nancy faces a challenge that could make her lose her seat due to her taking Impeachment off the table, that is if we support her opponent I have sent her money and will do so again. Now if we had a opponent to Jane Harmon(radical terrorist act sponsor) also she is mine to see her go but hers is one of the richest MIC districts!

4. Step Zero

The very, very first step. Allow bankers to create currency, since money rules the world and they rule the money, they then rule the world. If more Americans knew of the US monetary policy, that a private bank that seized power in the early 1900's, created a depression to suck up competing banks and now creates money out of thin air to lend our govt. with interest (so the debt can never be paid down, as we have to borrow from them to pay it), they would rise agaist it. The last three presidents to try to educate and move the people against it were killed by the bankers for it. Lincoln (Booth admitted it) Garfield and JFK (they hired the CIA).

The role in Fascism is simple. The biggest source of debt, the military machine, profits. As surely as they fund both sides of wars, funding a military big enough to keep an entire nation down in the US will be a far bigger payday. After all, our military can barely control Iraq, it'll take a lot more and a lot more borrowing to pay for an army big enough to hold down America. But Blackwater is proof it's under way already. Already allowed, a private fucking company, to shoot Americans in N.O. at their judgement with no penalty, opening fire randomly in Iraq (actually doing it) and facing almost no actual punishment, and still in business there, and then HERE.

Ron Paul deserves credit for being the only one besides Kucinich, and more voiciferously, willing to take on the money elite really running things, and using left vs. right, religion & social issues to distact us while their mechanisms flourish regardless of the outcome. I'm NOT a Paul supporter, don't get me wrong, corporate free-for-alls he wants w/no regulations would be disaster and what the elite want. But he's at least right about the monetary policy issue, and the need to end these wars. But I digress. Fight the real power.
