Dear Friends,

I wanted to take just a moment of your time to thank you for signing PDA's critically important petition in support of my legislation to end funding for the war in Iraq.

On November 7th, the American people made it very clear that they are demanding a new direction in our Iraq policy. They are tired of the status quo. They realize that "stay the course" is not a policy, it's a slogan - a meaningless, dangerous slogan.

Your support of my legislation, HR 4232, has not gone unnoticed. I have been approached by many of my House colleagues who have heard from their constituents -- people like you -- that dramatic change is in order.

I plan to reintroduce my legislation when the House reconvenes in January. I am hopeful that at the very least the bill will serve to move the debate away from the same old failed rhetoric and toward bringing our troops home.

Again, thank you for your passion, for your activism, and for your commitment to making the world a safer, more peaceful place.

cannot let this war/occupation continue. This is absolutley crucial to the future of the planet.
