The video is terrifying. Yet sheriff's official viewing it say all is well.

The one who assaulted the wheelchair guy was a black woman, this one is a white female deputy. Looks like the Sheriff's department is an equal opportunity employer of brutes.

Anytime you give the power of taking another person's life to anyone who hasn't been properly vetted and educated you will have this situation.

We are a Police State. We have created more prisons than schools. We have more people in jail than the rest of the world combined. In order to staff this kind of monstrous state we've lowered the standards and allowed sub-standard people to have powers that will only bring out their worst. And it will only get worse as we continue our slide into a more solid form of fascism.

Who are these people? You walk by them every day. You work with them. They're all around you. They might even be you. None of us really know until we're given that power. And to think there are those that want to make the carrying of concealed weapons by any citizen legal.

the officer was trying to get her up, and she was holding onto the chair, then when she got thrown to the ground she was holding the officer's leg.

That's resisting, I think.

And either way, her resistance was certainly minimal. I'm not really sure as to when we became a nation that thinks it's okay to throw a woman down on her head and pummel the living shit out of her for something that could easily be handled in a more sane matter, but apparently it's happened. Could you maybe shed a little light on this for me, since you seem to think that this woman deserved a serious beating and health problems for the rest of her life for grabbing a chair?

Have you ever heard of the concept that violence should be a last resort for anybody, but in particular police officers? Their stated goal is always to defuse a potentially violent situation, not start with the violent beating right off the bat.

I think if she didn't try to grab onto the arms of her chair while the officer was trying to get her out of the seat, she would have a better case.

It wouldn't matter what she grabbed onto, as long as it wasn't a weapon or threatening to the officer. Beating her, because she didn't want to get up is ridiculous. Cops shouldn't beat people, they are supposed to be trained not to do this and to handle situations better. This cop is a piece of shit in the wrong position.
