Let us know how you should have done better.

he is running a much smarter campaign. Much smarter than either Gore or Kerry did. They are both good men, but they ran lousy campaigns. Maybe they were just too trusting that truth would prevail and that the American people would not be taken by the ROVE tactics.
I don't think Obama will make those mistakes. Everything about this campaign tells me they have some very good people running it.
I'm not saying it will be easy, but there are real differences. As has been argued in other threads, Hillary is doing us a great favor by prolonging this thing, even if she is harming her own political future. It is creating the circumstances where Obama is forced to campaign hard and build a base of enthusiasm in dozens of states. These 20,000 person rallies would not be happening is Hillary had smelled the coffee and bowed out.
Those 20,000 person rallies provide a huge dimension entering the general campaign that neither Kerry nor Gore had on their ledger.
As far as how effective he can be at governing, the fact is that there are not vast differences among Democrats. Most of us agree that we have to stop sending billions of dollars every month to Iraq. We have to change the way the health care industry works. We have to take immediate actions to reverse climate change. We must build a post-oil economy that focused on American technology leadership and great jobs here in America.
We all know the list. We will enter the Obama presidency with solid majorities in the House and the Senate. We will need Senators like Kerry and Clinton to rise to meet these opportunities and challenges. Obama cannot do it himself.

8. He is running a smart campaign by constantly attacking Hillary. How can he unite |

the country if he has been running a negative campaign against another Democrat from the start? You can say he can fight smart and dirty and that's what we need in GE. But don't tell me that he is not someone who would say anything to get votes.

This has been one of the most gentle campaigns in recent history. If poor Hillary can't take the tiny bit of criticism she is getting from Obama, how would she ever stand a chance up against the fascist machine?
I'm sorry it feels like an unfair attack to her. As rough-and-tumble campaigns go, this is softball. We didn't mean to hurt her feelings.

11. For you the people in the swift boat ads look as gentle and nice too? |

Just because you frame attacks and lies in a calm tone, does not make them less vicious. It only makes them more effective.

He sent out two flyers that explained his view and characterized her view on NAFTA and universal health care.
This is hardly what I would call a "vicious attack".
There can't be any debate about her position on NAFTA. She and her old boy were for it. She'll just have to live with that. Probably seemed like the safe bet at the time, but when you frame your positions out of political expedience instead of bedrock principle (remember the Iraq and Iran war votes?) sometimes there are consequences.
I can see more of a debate on health care. Frankly I think they are both completely wrong on this. Neither one has the balls to go after the central problem there. We'll just have to hope that the next President is able to work behind the scenes to get some fundamental reforms through. The moneyed interests have literally trillions of dollars of profits at stake here and they will do anything necessary to destroy any candidate that takes them on publicly. But really, if you disagree with Obama's position on on health insurance, I can respect that, but calling it a dirty trick or an "attack" is just nonsense.
I thought Hillary had a tougher hide than this. Now I'm really glad we won't be nominating her.

what Hillary was referring to. But I wouldn't be surprised if Obama is twisting truth again in his brochures. Obama implied in every stump speech that Hillary is one of "the same old folks in Washington" who sit on status quo when Obama knows full well of the sweeping changes Clintons brought to Washington. He accused her of being devisive when he knows full well that that she has already proven that she can work with Republicans while Obama only hopes to. The fact that she won reelection with overwhelming majority in NY shows that Republican can vote for her if they get to know her. He accused her of voting for the war when Hillary she voted for using force wisely and as a last resort as she said while casting her vote. He accused Hillary's supporter as being cynics, as if nobody should question his qualifications. I mean you are asked if you have experience if you apply for a job as cashier. Come on. He allowed his surrogates to twist Bill's words and also Hillary's comments about King into racist overtones. He race baited by suggesting Bill Clinton is not a "bro". For a smart person like you, don't you see it? Next time Obama is the target of the Rep. attack, should we also accuse him of being divisive?

12. BS ! Hillary has gone NEGATIVE time and time and time again ! |
|
Hillary's ship is sinking. She has been the one that has gone negative (along with Bill) time and time and time again. Her screeching about the mailer is hypocritical, desperate, mega-whining crap. Give me a break.

7. Senator Kerry should have and could have been that transformation |
|
if only the media had not played along with Bush and allowed fear and smear to rule in 2004. However, If Senator Kerry's loss can lead to any good, it could be in moving our country and our party forward with the press supporting and helping our candidates this time out.

Arenas full of 20,000 pissed off Americans.
As well they should. They had better get straight with the American people really soon. Their free ride on the fascist coattails is coming to an end shortly.
Americans demand our democracy back.
