2. Easier to talk about the messenger than face the message?
What do YOU think about Barack's position on the Iraq War?

3. I think he's pretty two-faced to criticize Clinton
Edited on Wed Feb-27-08 12:36 PM by Tarc
who has stated repeatedly that she would vote differently knowing what we know now. It is peculiar that Kerry, Edwards, Biden, and other so-called heroes of the left were granted repireves after they said the same, yet Hillary does not.

There's also the fact that Obama repeatedly voted to fund the war as well.

4. Kerry, Edwards, Biden, and others have said they were WRONG.
Edited on Wed Feb-27-08 12:48 PM by ClassWarrior
Sen. Clinton STILL refuses to admit she was wrong at the time, even though she says she'd take it back "knowing what we know now." Sorry, but leaders have to have better than 20-20 hindsight.

And, even assuming that what she claims is true - that she wasn't approving a Blank Check for Invasion, that she was giving the UN inspectors a chance to do their jobs - where was her outrage when Bush** abused the power she approved for him?

5. Semantic masturbation doesn't impress me
They have all recanted their vote, and would not vote the same way knowing what we know now. That it has been said with different words and phrases is not a meaningful distinction.

8. Okay, let's assume you're right. Answer the second part then.
Edited on Wed Feb-27-08 01:05 PM by ClassWarrior
After all, Kerry, Edwards, and Biden aren't in the running for the job anymore.

12. Okay, play dumb. Pretend you don't know...
...what "Where was Sen. Clinton's outrage when Dubya** abused the authority she gave him?" means.

15. Obama missed his chance to be an " honest' antiwar candidate!
Edited on Wed Feb-27-08 03:21 PM by indimuse
HE KNEW! HE KNEW when voting to increase war spending..extending the war,how bad it was already...HE KNEW what that YES vote meant!

He could have come to the US Senate as promised(((HIS WORD.. while running for that seat!!)))and taken a STAND against staying any longer...FLOOR SPEECH.((((WORDS)))) words HE DID NOT SPEAK.. Written legislation...(((WORDS))) WORDS HE DID NOT WRITE!!..against the war..nor to STOP funding it..etc..He did not use his (((WORDS)) to inspire CHANGE or make an independent CHOICE when HE had the opportunity!! (He could have..THEN I would respect what he was touting...very misleading and THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME Obama's (((WORD))) has come under question. He chose to FUND it...He didn't have to..and should not be considered anything more than Hillary regarding the IW.

edit ..changed a (((WORD)))

10. There was this thing called a "debate", it took place last night
in which she plainly said that if we knew then what we know now, she would not have voted for it. Go rustle up a transcript of video for yourself.

11. I thought you meant in the past. I'm aware that she NOW says she would vote different;ly....
.... I remember Hillary saying at the start of the primary season that if people wanted someone who did not vote for the IWR there were plenty of other choices.

13. You have to be kidding right?
Obama is two-faced?

If he has two faces, then Hillary has ten.

And let's not forget, the if Hillary had not voted for the war, then there would be NO NEED to fund the war.

Nice deluded attempt at diversion though.

14. This issue alone speaks volumes
The 2 trillion dollar war that need not have happened. In light of the president already beginning his Illegal wiretapping, His being surrounded by hawkish cronies didn't it stand to reason that it would be dangerous to pursue Iraq? I realize how taken in we as a country were. I fell for colin powell's magic show at the UN. I felt great unease at the prospect of a second war. I felt extremely concerned when hans blixx kept saying give us time. I felt outraged when blixx said they would be able to finish by june but thus far there is nothing. I was mortified that i had been taken in once we began invading. I was praying for a short conflict and prayed for our troops. I also prayed that no lasting harm could be done by this misadventure. Now i go to peace rallies. It is shameful of those who could seek info did not push harder. I do hold Clinton accountable for her part in this fiasco. Of course murderers repent when they are on death row. In this instance I despise her lack of spine. what is it now over 4000 US soldiers dead well over 30000 wounded. How many Iraqi's have died. How quarts of blood have spilled into the sands of Iraq? 222,000 dollars a minute is what this catastrophe is costing us.(congressional budgeting office figures). If hillary is nominated I will gladly vote for her. John mccain scares the be-jesus out of me. I do not think she deserves this office for Her IWR vote too much has been lost.
