Updates from Maine
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=4522760&mesg_id=4522760

I hope nobody minds that I'm sort of posting various updates from the different states or town in one thread.

1. Just got back from Phippsburg, ME caucus
25% of the Dem registered voters showed up for the caucus. I think they said 108 total people.

62- Obama (57 people there + 5 absentee ballots)

44 - Clinton

2 - undecided

delegates

4 - Obama

2 - Clinton

It came down to a coin toss at the end to decide the final delegate.

3. Whoa! You and your husband made a BIG difference, then.
An entire delegate on a coin toss because you were there - I presume that if Obama had one less person at the caucus, the delegate would've gone to Clinton.

Good job!

:applause:

4. Never thought of it that way. Thanks!
My husband was supposed to work an 8am-10pm shift. He had someone work half of his shift so that he could go to the caucus.

7. Yep, Obama wins Maine!
Edited on Sun Feb-10-08 07:32 PM by rox63
Called by NBC a while ago. At the time, about 70% of the vote was counted, and Obama was leading by about 15%. Lots of white, working class voters in Maine. So much for all of them being Clinton supporters. :eyes:
