Rumor, Rumor at DailyKos
Evidently Jay Severin of Boston radio stated on his program that HRC will be dropping out of the race this Friday, the 29th. He reiterated numerous times it was a rumor but has great confidence in this highly placed DC media person who gave him this info.

Go to DailyKos, on the right and down the page....

1. I doubt it
I can't imagine Clinton is going go go this far and not wait to see what happens in Ohio and Texas. Even if it looks like she can't win there, she can't help but remember her last minute come back in New Hampshire. Her chances of winning are remote, but I can't see her totally giving up as long as there is a small chance.

2. From what I'm reading her Texas campaign is in flux, no one returning
calls, handling the details. I'm wondering if this explains her behaviors the last week or so. She was comitted to the debate and did it, knowing she would bow out. I don't know either, but this guy in Boston is pretty knowledgable and has some great connections. Time will tell I guess.

3. Too much Karl Rove
I'm sitting here thinking this is a pathetic attempt to make the hordes of Obama volunteers think "Oh, good, we'll just stay home this weekend then." :-)

The Clinton campaign doesn't give up that easy, whatever Jay Severin says!

4. I don't know what to make of this.
On one hand, I think she'd be wise to drop out before Tuesday if her internals show her losing, or winning either/both big states by a small margin. She needs to win both by a large margin to remain viable. After all the "firewall" talk for TX and OH, I would be embarrassed to continue if the best I could do was pull out a squeaker. She's a smart woman and understands the math problem she has with the delegates. OTOH, I can see a scenario in which she loses TX, but does well enough in OH to use that victory as reason to hang in there.

It was difficult for me to watch the debate last night. As much as she's angered me with some of the stuff she's pulled during this campaign, I felt really sad for her last night. IMHO, her facial expressions and body language spoke volumes.

It's gonna be an interesting couple of days.

5. Yes, I think you might be right. The question now is how to go out

and not look like a complete loser. As I said this could explain a lot of her eccentric behaviors in the past week. If she were to do this gracefully her future options will be much better. It's gonna be interesting is right.

6. Only if she's broke
I can't see it otherwise. If this were a real rumor, I can't see how it wouldn't be all over cable news. I think she will have to lose Texas to accept the writing on the wall.

7. Well it's out there on our first page now. Odds or something that she
drops out Friday. I think money is one of the big things here.

10. Except she CAN'T drop out BECAUSE of money, either. Donors were promised
she was staying in thru Texas and Ohio.

They wouldn't have reached that 35 mil without it. What I do see them doing is paying off their bills and not racking up anymore new ones, thus the disorder and diminished presence in Texas. I think they just want to win at least Ohio so she can show up there and go out looking like a winner.

It's all for show at this point - and paying off what they owe using the money from true believers who thought she could pull it off.

8. I doubt she'd pull out before 3/4
But if she loses on 3/4, then she might drop out. I can see where donations would dry up, and super-delegates would start jumping ship in droves.

12. i just can't see her going out like this and Friday is not a good news making day
i think if/when she drops out she would want the chance to address as many people as she can and leave a positive impression of her.

people are less likely to sit and pay attention to the news on friday night than on the other days.

and she is still leading in Ohio even if it's a small lead.

15. Jay Severin
is a right wing nut case. Please don't think that because this is Boston we might have even a single left wing radio host.

We haven't even had Air America for well over a year now.
