I think we should renew the effort to Let It Sink

that the majority of Clinton "supporters" are disruptive trolls who get great glee out of the fights they start. They are like little children with matches--they throw a lit one out with some tinder and then run away laughing.

I know, I know, I'm guilty of responding to posts when I shouldn't--I have recently renewed my effort to use the Ignore button more liberally. I thought it was rather successful when the Let It Sink campaign was at its peak, but the inflammatory, useless threads have picked up again and seem to persist beyond their reasonable shelf life.

I once looked in there and a poster had questions about the Texas caucus, and I PMed them with a response, only because I'm from Texas and knew the answer.

I don't even look in there, it's not my forum. I'm sure if they have threads that are getting locked or posts deleted it's because they're breaking the rules. :)

I do my best to "let it sink" and have found that "hide thread" and "ignore" are great deterrents to the temptation I've often felt when reading some GDP threads. If the person hasn't earned a place on my ignore list, I've often typed a reply only to hit the back button before the post button. Following up with a "hide thread" keeps me from going back in for more.

With the recent infestation of trolls, I usually Alert without responding, since trolls are just disrupting attention hoores. I'd prefer to have them frustrated and lonely when their pizza arrives. :-)

really supported my sense of what's been happening in GDP. Hillary supporters are frequently foaming at the mouth and saying nothing of substance. But I kept hearing about the "hate" of Obama supporters, so I went looking for it. That post kind of explained why I had such a hard time finding it.

Neither have the traffic this does. Neither are in as easy-to-read format as this, but NEITHER has the absolute vitriol that this forum does and neither allows racist/rumor attacks on Obama.

I go there and relax and read just to remind myself I'm NOT crazy and haven't entered an alternate universe. DU is simply terrible right now and I cannot fathom why this is allowed to continue in such a prominent forum.

Daily Kos is good, but it is very hard to read. Not a lot of good options out there right now, but there are some !
