I don't think the Clinton "gaffe" is going to hurt her. I think it may even hurt Obama.

Hillary Clinton isn't stupid. She knows Washington politics. She loses nothing by insulting the netroots because for the most part we weren't "for" her anyway. She's not thinking about the GE, only the primary. She's making a bet that we will vote for the lesser of two evils come November. This is probably true according to polls that showed that more Obama supporters would vote for Clinton than the other way around. You can clearly see in GDP that even those who participate here on DU, who *are* the netroots, are willing to side with her. In fact, by standing by her statement, she is hoping to 1.) Come off as strong and decisive and 2.)Portray Obama as a member of the "loony left" in time to affect moderates before the PA primary.

It might work. Who knows. I guess we can only wait, see, and volunteer.

1. I agree
I think it's an attempt to "Sister Sojouh" the netroots and to paint him as some kind of radical.
Wow, just Wow!

2. I don't see it. I think she mortally wounded her campaign with this
and I can almost feel a PA victory for Obama in the making. Heck, a crowd of over 35,000 at his campaign rally on Sat in Philly? I think that is quite noteworthy given that this is still primary season, and may be a harbinger of Tuesdays outcome.

3. You have a point with voters who are afraid of anything different, but
Clinton sure could have used Move On's support in the general election if she were the nominee.
Your suggestion that perhaps she put this out there may not be far from the truth to make her look more middle of the road.
