Every day Hillary Clinton stays in the race means more likely we have a Pres. McCain. She quite literally is the Undead. She can't win, but she won't die.

Since the election has been called early, Hillary probably got her double digit victory, and can justify staying in.

1. She would stay in whether or not she got double digits - just my opinion.
I don't think she will bow out until/unless she loses both North Carolina and Indiana on May 6. I am not sure she will bow out even then...

:(

3. What does Indiana look like for him?
I haven't seen any polls for Indiana. Does anybody know what any polls have said?

12. The last polls I saw had Obama up by about 5-9 points.

4. The MSM is going to start preaching
That Obama "can't win". And the sheeple will follow their divine wisdom. Why the hell did they say it was too close to call for so long? I really got my hopes up and that made it worse.

8. Yeah, the media has been working for Hillary at least recently.
Fox News has even assisted her against Obama. I am beginning to think the idea is the weaken him so much for the races that are left, that she overcomes him.

5. I hope the media turns on her. I know it probably won't happen, but
if they start to treat her like the joke she is, it will make a difference. They've been keeping her afloat way too long as it is. They need to stop treating her like she's a viable candidate. Stick a flag pin in her, she's done.

6. I'm pretty cheerful.
Overlooking the insurmountable leads in delegates and funds he still holds, Obama beat the hell out of both Clintons on a personal level, and that's going to tell as the campaign rolls on. Looking back at their gaffes over the past month, they are worn down to the nub.

Hillary's laughter at questions she doesn't want to answer is happening so often it looks like inappropriate affect, and she's issuing angry threats to sovereign nations for maybe potentially using weapons they might have at some indeterminate point in the next decade. Bill says the Obama campaign "played the race card", and a day or so later angrily denies it, and it's unclear if he's lying or if he's too worn out to remember. And these are supposed to be the experienced stewards who can lead us to a new era of peace and prosperity.

These are not the fiercely disciplined Clintons of song and story. These are testy, exhausted people running on autopilot, and that's because our guy and the army he has mobilized have outmaneuvered them. The next two weeks are going to be a treat; on the current evidence, Obama will be as cool as the other side of the pillow, and Hillary might well crack and threaten to bomb Wales.

10. thanks for the optimistic and insightful picture of the situation
It helps me start off the day with a bit more spring in my step.
I love all the comments on this thread, so I'll also mention that
beachmom's "zombie" term is PERFECT-- that's exactly what HRC looks and acts like
no surrender-- yes, stick that flag pin in her
Connie corleone: yes, indeed, May 6 can't come soon enough for me. I'll try hard to adopt Bryan's approach, and think of the next two weeks as a "treat". But, still, PLEASE let's win both Indiana and North Carolina, and get this over with ASAP.

13. Running on autopilot
is my feeling too. But also scratching, clawing, spitting, and kicking. And kicking takes me to a mule analogy, the stuborness and mindless determination to "win" even when it is not at all clear what exactly she/they would win given the scorched earth they leave behind. I wish I could share your cheerfulness.... though I agree, Wales better beware :-).

7. They called it early- interestingly Fox News was the first to do so,
because they were right on the phones raising money.

It makes me sick to think of even a possibility of the Clinton's running our party again.

11. Al Giordano's take on this
http://ruralvotes.com/thefield/?p=1105

Clinton’s margin among all voters in Ohio (10.5 percent) diminished by the time she got to Pennsylvania.

The margin among registered Democrats (a 14 percent lead in Ohio) diminished by at least 39 percent in Pennsylvania.

Among white registered Democrats (70 percent of them in Ohio) - the demographic that the pastor-bashing and bitter-posturing was aimed at - Senator Clinton lost 24 percent (down to 53 percent in Pennsylvania).

Among African-American registered Democrats (14 percent of them in Ohio) she lost 42 percent of her previous support (down to 8 percent in Pennsylvania).

All the posturing and negativity didn’t gain her a single yard.

In fact, Senator Clinton lost ground in every one of those key foundations of her former base vote.

Whether or not the commercial media spins it that way - in her campaign’s lexicon - “doesn’t matter.”

And ye shall know the dumbest and slowest - and intentionally dishonest - political reporters, pundits, bloggers (and former presidential candidates and spouses) by those that argue otherwise.

14. Double digits
barely, but yes. A few thousand votes would have lead to a rounding of 9% difference, and the psychological impact might have been slightly better.

Zombie - yes, true. Amd zombies are mindlessly stubborn and spread disease, which is exactly what is happening.

I remember your post from a few days ago. I did not agree, or did not want to believe then, I am not so sure now...

What I find demoralizing and scary is not so much the expected loss, though of course a 4-5% difference would have been so much better, and it seemed possible. What scares me is that so many people STILL DO NOT SEE IT! Still do not understand. Can still be fooled so easily. Takes me back to 04 and a;sp reminds me of the "sorry world" site (I think I have the name right...) that I kept going back to for several days and the many pictures there that I peered over crying. I HOPE we will not have to again apologize to the world...

How cn people believe a single word coming out of the Clinton's mouth is beyond me. But then aagain, many things are...
