Anybody have any opinions/ideas right now?
I just heard Rev. Wright on CNN in press conference where he sounded really PISSED OFF. The man has right to be pissed off-that's for sure. He has been treated very unfairly. But the very things that I heard him say to defend himself and his church I'm afraid played into every Obama hating MSM pundit hands. I'm really, really worried. I see lots of posts from Obama supporters in GDP today where they say don't worry, but I am really having a hard time doing it now. I think Rev. Wright is a good man with good intentions, but he is speaking for himself. It sucks that people don't separate Barack from Rev. Wright, but they sure won't now after hearing that today. I'm really scared that what he has done is hurting our cause A LOT. Things were tough enough after the MSM went on a feeding frenzy after PA. Just my opinion/observation from watching politics for almost 40 years. If anybody has any ideas/opinions about the situation, please respond. I would really like to hear some positive words or different ideas. Sorry to be so negative, but I'm trying to be honest.

1. Wright isn't running for anything. He isn't trying to change the law of the land or even influence
Obama. The media is in a frenzy over what? Isn't this all just way over the top.
This may play for a day or two then their will be no more to say.

Consider all the RW looney Evangelicals that tried and are still trying to control RW candidates, the President and really want to change the law of the land to something they feel is more to their liking.

2. Lord, I hope that you are right
This should have been a non-issue in the first place. Why the hell one person in a huge congregation should be responsible for everything a pastor has said in many years of sermons is crazy. Why don't we know who Clinton's or McCain's pastors even are. Maybe cause it's NOT FREAKING IMPORTANT. I hope that the MSM will be able to let this Wright story go soon-they just latch onto to a story they think is "scandalous" and won't let it drop if they seem to get higher ratings out of it. They're like vultures feasting on this crapola and it's disgusting. No, comparing the MSM to vultures is an insult to vultures everywhere.

4. Wright doesn't want Obama to be POTUS; otherwise, he would have had
the sense to do the one interview with Moyers and then left it at that. He has royally screwed over Obama; I know 100% that Obama does NOT agree with what Wright said. Obama is going to have to take very painful action. He is going to have to completely break with his old minister for saying very hurtful things. Especially, defending Farrakhan like that, not to mention Ortega. Of course, all of this makes Obama sound more right than ever -- Wright is STUCK in the past, and that past includes the notion that a black man will never be president. Ugh. I'm hurt by what Wright did today.

9. I don't understand how the MSM is getting away with telling
people to believe that everything that comes out of Wright's mouth Obama is in complete agreement with. I hope that he gets out and straightens things out really quick because Clinton is just using this as THE manipulation she has been looking for to convince SDs that he is not electable. He CAN'T let her get away with that. I wish he would use her doing that as the reason he gets a lot tougher with her and her lies about him. I hope he is getting good advice about fighting back about this and takes it. It's up to him now.

3. Short of overthrowing the corporate whore media, what can we do?
My anger over the media boiled over shortly after Obama gave his speech on race. The only news I watch on television is Countdown, and some local news in the morning. What cable "news" offers is nothing but corporate bullshit.

I've said this many times before, but I'll say it again. I used to write m$nbc numerous emails each and every day complaining about their programming and offering suggestions for improvement. Joe "dead intern" Scarborough and Pat Buchanan were the subjects of my most vociferous complaints, and for my efforts, m$nbc punished me by giving them more face time. Contacting sponsors had no impact. I finally wrote a final good-bye to m$nbc letting them know I'd had enough of their "news" and that I'd no longer tune in to anything other than Countdown. I haven't looked back.

I had such high hopes for m$nbc after Keith's ratings soared. I hoped we'd finally have a cable network devoted to substance and truth, which is why my disappointment at the sham m$nbc has become is so great.

The corporate whore media can kiss my arse.

They need to be put out of business.

7. The problem isn't us as we go on the internet
and find out the truth, its the rest of the u.s. that believes all that shit and wonders if obama can't handle the press and wright how will he handle the country...

thats what worries me. The time has come for obama to clearly state that while he appreciates all wright and the church have done for him over the years his current statements show he can't be a part of it anymore. His trying to stir things up is opposite to obama's message of coming together. Something like that.

6. Rev Wright is Sean Hannity's daily blather
I don't think a day goes by that Hannity isn't foaming at the mouth about Wright.

Wright is a non-issue, was a non-issue, and should never, ever have become an issue. Sadly HRC played a role here and is pushing this one for her own advantage.

It is sad to say that we can no longer tell real issues (health care, economy, war in Iraq) from trumped up nonsense about preacher's 7 year old sermons and lapel pins.

8. Even Keith is bothered by Rev. Wright and thinks Wright may be jealous of Obama
and that may be one reason why he's going on this media tour just before the pivotal Indiana primary. I'm afraid that Indiana is going to fall to Hillary.

10. Obama only has a week to get this mess straightened out
And I hope to God that he does. He has to be very precise and tell people what HE thinks and how it is different than Rev. Wright.

13. Keith is helping Obama when he separates the two.
Whether by design or not, it's a good thing to see.

I'm optimistic that ordinary people can tell the difference between Obama and Wright.

11. something just occurred to me
Maybe Wright is throwing himself under the bus for Obama's sake.

Maybe he wants to get out in the media spotlight and be really really outrageous so that Obama will look really sane by comparison. It's a way for Obama to be separated from him. Obama doesn't need to disown him, because Wright will disown Obama, in a way. He'll disown Obama's principles by showing everybody his own radical, extreme views.

Then all Obama has to do is repeat,as he's already said, "He doesn't speak for me." I don't think it's coordinated, but maybe just something Wright decided to do on his own. We'll just have to see how it plays out.

You know what else? It's sucking all the oxygen away from Hillary this week.

12. I'm really scared that the controversy is making her
look better by comparison to people in Indiana and NC. Especially since the NC gov just endorsed Hillary. I'm just feeling pretty discouraged, and I hope that Obama comes out saying something profound about this today, not tomorrow. He's got to put an end to this media feeding frenzy. I really think he can turn this back around to his favor, but needs to do it now.
