Evidence of "Moles":
Edited on Mon Dec-21-09 05:09 AM by lamp_shade
I rarely visit GD or GDP but instead read (nearly) every "Latest" post. Sheldon Whitehouse gave a powerful speech yesterday and a few threads were started. I watched the first thread for a few minutes as the rec counts went up and down... >1, 0, <1. This was Sheldon Whitehouse, our highly, highly regarded senator from RI, giving the other party a royal lambasting for their lies. I was able to count at least 8 unrecs before I went on to the next thread.

Durbin called Coburn out yesterday for asking that we all "pray that someone doesn't show up for the early morning vote". You all saw the video (it's posted in Videos). I, again, watched a couple of threads going through the same "rec/unrec" bouncing around. I didn't take a count, but there were plenty of "unrecs".

Two powerful speeches calling the republicans out on their hate and lies... and DUers "unreccing" them. These were not "loyal yet disgruntled" democrats folks. I call them "moles".

Oh... here's the video of Whitehouse's speech: http://thepoliticalcarnival.blogspot.com/2009/12/must-see-video-sheldon-whitehouse-lying.html

1. I'm sure there are moles, as well as
agents provocateur, paid trolls, delusional loners, and malcontents who just like to argue, and be as destructive as possible. There are tea baggers, Repugs, real political operatives, and people who fancy themselves operatives.

The anonymity of the internet is a juicy invitation to bad actors of all kinds. DU gets it's fair share.

You can catch some. The unaccomplished ones. The dimwitted. But the ones who are really good can get away with it for a long time.

What puzzles me is why so many of the obvious ones are allowed to stay and run amok.

3. the "paranoid style"
Good quote by the Senator. Describes GD/P pretty well! With the right it is "socialism" and the left it is the "corporations."

The Republicans have been taken over by their lunatic fringe! Good point. And he calls out the conservative pundits without naming them.

Interesting that the Republicans are the ones keeping them there into the holidays and it includes their staffs. They just try making people as physically uncomfortable as they can, hoping they will give in because of that! How republican of them!

4. What's the point in having rec/unrec?
You can click unrec not leave a comment nobody knows who's doing what. If you're going to have rec/unrec you should be required to leave a comment. If not a comment then rec/unrec by your user name. IMO moles find where they can pounce and go undetected just like the ones in my yard. You want to catch them (the moles on DU) but you can't. The survey on challenger to run against President Obama 2012 is an example of what is going on here at DU.

5. If the "Kill the Bill" folks over in GD & GD-P really listened to the
speech by Senator Whitehouse, he also spoke as to what would happen if this bill didn't pass, even though it doesn't have everything in it that it should have. I was really happy with the vote last night to move this senate health bill forward. If this fails, we will never be able to prove how wrong and what kind of liars the Republicans are. And passing this bill is getting our foot in the door, and it can continue to be improved.

Reading GD & GD-P the last few days is like I am reading the Freeper website. Sounds like a bunch of impatient kids.
