President Obama's numbers for Liberals and Democrats go up (12/22)
Edited on Tue Dec-22-09 02:09 AM by grantcart
For a little dose of reality:

Besides African Americans (90%) the next highest percentage of support comes from people who label themselves as "Liberal Democrats" (86%) with moderate democrats following (83%) and then conservative democrats (77%).

The President recieves support from about half of independents (45%) and only 17% of Republicans.

Other groups that offer high numbers for the President are Non White (72%) and Hispanics (68%).

The President has positive numbers in every region but the South with the East leading at 58%.

My prediction is that after the legislation is passed and people see what is in the final bill that there will be another 6-8% jump.

8. Thanks

actually its a "same old news" poll.

The amazing thing about the President's opinion rating is how little it moves.

People have basically decided if they trust him or not whether or not they agree with a specific policy.

2. Thanks for posting that here GC. I don't even bother with GDP anymore.
Nice to see that some self described liberals have a little sense. The disruptors in GDP neither represent the country, nor the Democratic Party. It's a good thing some of us don't take our marching orders from angry bloggers.

11. Or our Marching Orders from disingenuous
hysterical bloggers like hamsher.

She just sent me an email that said "sign the Kill the Bill" petition and I sent her one back that said "Kill the Trash Talk, hamsher".

4. This is the part I just really don't get ...

This is what scientifically controlled studies show.

My own personal experiences, outside of this forum, show the same thing. I mentioned elsewhere that I spent basically two days when not at work at Annise Parker's, newly elected mayor of Houston, campaign headquarters surrounding by a throng of proudly defiant liberals. Most of them were far more liberal than Parker is. I got into a lot of conversations about national politics with these people, and I heard nothing, not a single thing, anywhere close to the kind of vile nonsense I see not just daily but minute by minute on DU's two biggest forums.

The contrast is bizarre. I'd like to be able to say I understand what's going on, but I don't, not really.

13. Please tell Madame Mayor
(if you get to work with her again) that she is getting mad love from all over the world including from one Southern girl in Australia. I read about her election and was so proud of the folks in Houston.

I'm not surprised in the least that you'd be a part of her team. You're all right, Roy. :)

I'd like to be able to say I understand what's going on, but I don't, not really.

Most of us have long since stopped caring what is going on around here. It's gotten absolutely impossible to take DU seriously over the last 13 months, so many of us don't.

7. But, but, the DU Hatriots say that Obama is toast!
Don't they represent the majority of Murikans?

Huh?

9. So are these self-identified liberals and moderates?
I am so confused about those labels right now. According to many on DU, I am a corporatist DLCer, so can I really proudly claim the liberal label? I am so confused.

Seriously, if polled, I don't know in which category I would put myself these days.

16. LOL!!
I posted earlier that when I first started posting, I was called a DLC paid operative. I had to google DLC....had no clue as to what it even meant! Some of these folks are nuts!

However, if there is any group willing to pay me for my positive posts, I'm more than willing to take the money.

14. There are people over there advocating teabagger partnerships...
Nuts! I cannot believe they think they represent any large portion of the Democratic party. They are just waiting for, and excited about, the always-impending "revolution".
