The Twelve Days of Obama- Post Some Positive Links Everyday

I Haz an Idea-The Twelve Days of Obama. With all of the negativity lately, I'm glad this forum is still around. Given the (what's the liberal equivalent of the teabaggers? ) Herbal teabaggers? around lately, I've needed a rest from all the negativity. Maybe it's being a kid of the 70's, and watching the liberal promise crater over 30 years-Carter tried, but was done in by the same crowd that now follows Jane Hamsher and the rest. What I wouldn't, and the world wouldn't have given for four more years of Carter. Maybe there would have been more progress in the Middle East, maybe pot would have been legal, there would have been a sane approach to AIDS when it emerged. A lot of people lost way too much.

Obama is doing a great job. It's nice having a President who actually works hard, likes people and has a sane foreign policy. How soon we forget the lazy, uncaring Shrub, the clueless Bush daddy, and the army of neocons and theocons and the rest that molded policy for 30 some odd years. Think about it. Since I turned 18, we've had just 12 years of Democrats in the White House. Jane are so angry at Reid they forget what happened the last time we had a Democratic President and a Republican Congress. It was scandal a week and finally the Impeachment. Later we had the election 2000 fiasco that gave us Bush, and the reasons this site was created in the first place.

We would have never had Bush-and probably never 9-11 if the Democrats had Congress then, because there would have been no Linda Tripp, no Ken Starr, no impeachment. Gore wouldn't have had to run on the defensive. And the cheaters wouldn't have bothered if they knew that Congress would have backed Al Gore. Letting the Republicans win next year just to teach the Conservative Democrats a lesson? Sister, please. Everybody lost, not just the Democrats they were angry at.


So my suggestion is that posters find and post at least one positive link for Obama for the Next 12 days. I'll start off with a few good places. obama_daily. Great site for pictures-totally fanny and adoring, If you don't mind the sugar, the pictures are just great and inspiration, to say the least.

I hadn't thought along the lines of what you're pointing out..I just know I lived through the 8 years of bush politics(when I first entered into the political fray in 2000) and thought it was a miracle that Obama won. It was the Perfect Storm and after the surrealness of his winning and presidency has faded a bit I'm left with just being so happy we did it!

And, all the Marching With the Teabagger types in the Universe are not fazing my judgment one iota.

I know he postponed his annual vacation to Hawai'i for the holidays to stick around for the Senate vote.

"President Obama Postpones Hawaii Vacation"

"President Obama, who was confirmed earlier this week to be headed for a Hawaiian Holiday vacation has changed his mind. He’s the leader of the free world, he can do that.

Barack Obama will be waiting until the US Senate finishes working on the health care bill that is so near and dear to the President. The work could last until Christmas Eve. The Senate is working to iron out compromises on a bill that is all but passed through the legislature and is now just working on the finer details.

President Obama was expected to travel to the island of Oahu and stay where he stayed last year on the islands windward side in the town of Kailua near the Kaneohe Marine Base. Official word has yet to be given although rumors have it that the decision on when the president will leave DC should be made by today."
