Interesting Poll...If I say so myself |
|
I started a poll in GDP with the following scenario:
You're the President, and Congress has brought you a flawed healthcare proposal that you don't really like. But knowing that a veto sets the whole process back for a whole year (or maybe more) and that 45,000 people die every year due to a lack of health care, do you a) sign it or b) veto it.
So far, it's got about 80% saying they would sign the bill.
I find that really interesting and I can't figure out what it means. Are the haters just on Christmas vacation already?

1. No, they just vote disingenuously based on an emotional response |

Polls on DU are useless for the most part.
Last night, 50% gave him an "F" for a grade - it's beyond silly at times.

2. Not a representative sample... |

But I've noticed polls like the one you mention with HUGE negative numbers. This poll is still holding steady at just under 80% saying they would sign it.
So is everybody furious, but at the end of the day they're resigned to reality?
Are the negative voices having second thoughts when the question is framed that way?
I think both of those scenarios are pretty far-fetched.
