We seem to be getting attacked
Edited on Wed Dec-23-09 11:31 PM by HughMoran
(edit - at least I am) I've been directly and indirectly attacked by at least 3 DUers about posting here (on the BO forum) - it's obviously bothering the living &^&(* out of some people.

Edit: but why?

(I'd post a couple of direct quotes, but I'm pretty sure it's against the rules)

3. Well, it's all here for them
to read.. they can't comment here so, of course, they'd get ya out there.

Tell them go March With The Teabaggers bc jane hamsher said so. She also said "Fire Bernie" bc he didn't vote to kill the bill like her buddies the assholes did.

Cross Post GDP

"don't know Jane...but I know Bernie and I don't think she should be calling him out"

by EdgedInBlue

"After reading one of the wrecked list diaries about Jane Hamsher of Firedoglake.com joining forces with Grover Norquist to call for the resignation of Rahm Emmanuel, a poster pointed me to a twitter by Ms. Hampher calling for Bernie Sanders to kill the bill or lose his seat.

I've got to tell you. Until this week, I didn't know much about Ms. Hamsher. I knew that a diarist blogged here and got donations through FDL. I signed up several months ago on FDL because of that diarist's involvement in health care reform."

<...>

But it wasn't until a poster noted that Ms. Hamsher had tweeted about Senator Bernie Sanders losing his seat unless he killed the bill. Losing his seat. The only self-professed socialist in the political spectrum. Losing his seat because he wasn't progressive enough? Bernie Sanders, promoter of single-payer health care? That guy who passionately argued for, and offered an amendment that would provide health care and dental coverage for every American? I almost couldn't believe it. But I clicked the linky, and sure enough...there it was, in all its glory."

5. One question: Did you alert on them?
Personal attacks are supposed to be off limits. I would alert if that happened to me.

I put the bitter one on ignore - do you think that is an alert worthy offense (I know it was a personal attack and snarky)?

10. I didn't mind the other people busting me about this place (one was via PM),
Edited on Thu Dec-24-09 12:51 AM by HughMoran
but this was a little bit over the top and I wasn't sure how to react as I've only been posting here for a couple of days.

I hope nobody minds me sharing this sort of thing. On the one hand, it's nice to have people who won't attack me for asking a question, on the other hand, I don't want to bring too much of the crap in here if it bothers anybody.

17. That poster did a whole thread about how pathetic we are for
posting over here. Seems to be trying to make something of it.

I think it got locked.

I just see this board as trying to recreate regular normal DU.

9. You have to differentiate from some very sincere good people whose
expectations may have been too high and others who have established a full blown hate Obama cabal.

When I can I go full out on the latter. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x7304253

13. What upsets them is the idea that there is still a part of DU
That isn't anti-Obama/Democratic They thought they would be able to drive off anyone that still supports the President. They are not happy to learn of a Democratic Underground at the Democratic Underground.

25. There is a large part, and to be honest, their discourse is empty threats, similar to a nader or
green party threat. What are they going to do? HCR WILL become law. Are they going to continue to complain and whine believing what?

The Democrats and the republicans are the only game in town. If that changes at all it will be far into the future. If they do not want to work within the confines of the party, then they can join a third party, and either become a spoiler in an election, or irrelevent, either way, they lose

They resent you for this even though we're all trying to do the exact same thing.

Like I said, their ridiculous perspective.

No matter what happens, I'm just happy to know that there is a good bunch of people here who can see the Big Picture through all the smoke on the battle field.

20. It is a good sign that they are upset with this group
It shows that its existence is a rational thorn in the side of people who have thrown rationality out the window. They can't control it so they are fuming. That's a good sign for DU. It's like a stopping a forest fire, the fire isn't out, but it has reached it's limit.

...hoping that we would indeed go on "on strike" (my post here entitled "Would they miss us?").

The obvious point being that they would miss us if we weren't there keeping them at least somewhat on the tracks. I believe that if we weren't there pushing back, the train would veer off the tracks and into a ravine.

forum. Just look to the upper right on the Barack Obama Forum page and click on to the link for "moderators".

Don't imagine they have too much to moderate here unless we break a rule, of course.:)

so all they can do is piss and moan
