WASHINGTON - An unclassified summary of outed CIA officer Valerie Plame's employment history at the spy agency, disclosed for the first time today in a court filing by Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald, indicates that Plame was "covert" when her name became public in July 2003.

The summary is part of an attachment to Fitzgerald's memorandum to the court supporting his recommendation that I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, Vice President Cheney's former top aide, spend 2-1/2 to 3 years in prison for obstructing the CIA leak investigation.

The nature of Plame's CIA employment never came up in Libby's perjury and obstruction of justice trial.

2. You are right
but the letter I got today from my US Senator (I sent one to the whole delegation on joining Dennis) had that lovely talking point

We do not want to divide the country further

4. Old News
If you check the transcript from Fitz's press conference last year, he said she was covert.

Nothing has happened - and nothing will happen - because the Dems won't push it. The Dems won't push it because there are ZERO consequences for Dems behaving badly. Even DUers will bend over backwards to make excuses for the most heinous shit that there favored candidate does.

5. Yes but that transcript did not make it to the news
now it is.

Shall we play a rousing game of connect the dots?

Somebody wants that impeachment to go forwards... and our wonderful reps are missing it

WHOOOSHHHH

15. It is very important.
We are closing in on Scooter's sentencing date. The Scooter-supporters are lobbying for him to get off without any criminal penalty. The court documents are confirming for the public what DUers have known for years.

17. Scooter is being sentenced next week
You can bet your boots Plame's covert status is going to be talked about. Just watch Victoria Toensing or some other neobot, state on CNN/Faux that "There was no crime!" or "She wasn't covert!"

The question is, will our media have have the mental capacity to remember from one week to the next? Will they recall that Fitzgerald released this statement? Or will they conveniently forget the recent past as they are prone to do? Will they let blowhards like Toensing or Vogons like William Bennett blather on and on about this shameful waste of the taxpayers money?

Nobody really gives a fuck.

All that matters is triangulation - suck a little less than the other guys, then we win.

Yee-ha!

10. And they will keep doing that until they pay a price
in my view that price will be a surprise, as in a third party... and not the usual suspects either

Why?

the people, we are pissed

And the ground is oh so ready for that

20. Please, no third party.
I agree the democratic party is pretty crappy right now, but rather than split the democratic vote with a third party, let's fix our own party. We just need to get progressive candidates to run against the triangulating leadership. If they decide to pull a liebermann and run as independents, well, at least they're not polluting the democratic party any more.

11. Good time for this to get some news coverage...
Keep the Pardon Libby freaks a little quieter.

I'd also like to hear Victoria Tonsig's take on this. Now you talk about an Attention Whore.

14. Scooter's Getting A Jump Suit Real Soon!!!
Now if we can get our hands on Mr. Rove's emails and that the donors to the Libby Defense fund are released, we could have some real fun.

Now let's see how the "executive" handles the images of one of their "Aspens" in the slammer. I suspect they'll let him cool and hope people forget about him. There's a Rove and Gonzo and other scandals to protect.

One can just imagine how long that midnight pardon list will be when it comes out on 1/19/09.
