This thread is mainly for amateur or professional pessimists, although optimists are welcome to respond. I was a card carrying opti-pessimist for decades, but now drifting over to the dark side full time.

Besides hurricanes, tsunamis, volcanoes, terror attacks, concentration camps, emergency contingency governments, poisons in the air and in our foods, global warming, nuking the middle east, revolutions, unlimited presidential powers, possible assassinations, economic collapse, environmental meltdowns, asteroid impacts, $12 per gallon gas, the rapture and ensuing return of Jesus, president gingrich, vice president mc cain, polar/magnetic shifts, gamma rays, sun spots, suspended elections, old folks smoking weed, rampant gay marriage in the streets, outbreaks of hysterical flag burning, and being invaded and toppled by Mexico and forced to learn Spanish, what worst case scenarios should we be thinking about?

You can bet your sorry ass that our 'government' has a lot of worst case scenarios they are preparing for, we should prepare too.

This will happen especially soon if the developing
world manages to develop the same tastes for high tech
(computers, TVs, etc., etc.) that we have.
