Support for gay rights at ‘high-water mark.’

“Gallup’s annual Values and Beliefs survey, conducted each May, finds current public tolerance for gay rights at the high-water mark of attitudes recorded over the past three decades.” Today, 59 percent of Americans believe that “homosexual relations between consenting adults” should be legal, and 89 percent believe “gays should have equal rights in terms of job opportunities.”

1. 41% of people think homsexual relations between consenting adults should be illegal?
that isn't about same-sex marriage, that's about any gay sexual relationship at all. Wow.

6. That is a bit surprising
I would expect it to be no more or at best a smidge more than the 27% or whatever it is that still supports Der Chimpenfuehrer*. But then again, there are Talibornagains that don't support Der Chimpenfuehrer, but still get their knickers in a twist over other peoples' sexual activities. So much for supposed Republican belief in smaller government...

Yo fundies: Get the fock over yourselves already, ya fockin mooks.

*(yes, I know the technically correct German would be 'den Chimpenfuhrer', due to the accusative case from the verb 'support', but I use the nominative 'Der' to make the joke...) ;)

2. I think
if gays can't marry and they can't join the military then they obviously can't pay taxes. Dontcha just love all the christian conservatives who ensure THEIR constitutional liberties are protected while attempting to use the constitution as a weapon against those they hate in the name of Jesus Christ.

The constitution is a shield, not a weapon.

3. Who are these lunatics who think gay relationships should
fricken be illegal?

Are you even kidding me that the number is still as high as 41 percent? :wtf:

I mean, I can at least understand, (not accept) but understand people's trepidations about equal marriage.

But I have zero tolerance for people who think I should be arrested for dating or living with the person I choose.

Unreal.

4. High water mark is an unwieldy term
It makes me think that the waters are now going to start receding but I don't believe that myself. While there is a long way to go I think that support and acceptance of Gay Rights will generally continue to increase.
