3 Dem candidates willing to debate on FUX (Biden, Kucinich, Gravel) |
|
http://rawstory.com/news/2007/Its_Kucinich_versus_Biden_in_controversial_0529.htmlGreat, so FUX will host a debate with a bunch of empty chairs. Why can't Dems unite and all turn their backs on that shithole? Let Dems debate on FUX when Olbermann hosts a GOP debate on MSNBC. With the leading candidates for the Democratic nomination in 2008 shunning a presidential primary debate sponsored by Fox News and a thinktank associated with the Congressional Black Caucus, Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH), Senator Joseph Biden (D-DE), and former Alaska Senator Mike Gravel have announced their readiness to stand in a controversial spotlight.
"He's ready to debate the issues anywhere at any time, and reach out to a new constituency," said Alex Colvin, a spokesman for former Alaska Senator Mike Gravel. "Senator Gravel looks forward to any opportunity to discuss the issues with other Democratic candidates."
Rep. Kucinich, known primarily for his push to impeach Vice President Dick Cheney and his strong anti-war position, criticized his opponents who were unwilling to show up to the CBC/Fox debate.
"Fox broadcasts the World Series, too, but is it any less of a World Series because it's on Fox? Ask the fans in St. Louis, or Anaheim, or Boston," the Ohio Democrat said in a statement released by his campaign. "Lets face it, the race for the presidency is the World Series of politics, and here you have three candidates for President who are admitting that not only can they not hit right-handed pitching, they're even afraid to step up to the plate and take a swing. Well, I'm one candidate for President who can hit any pitch anyone throws at me. And I'll be taking the field in Detroit this September with the Congressional Black Caucus."

Catapulting of the Propaganda....Why not just have the Democrats debate at the RNC? Is there any difference? It is good that some are making a statement and you would think Kucinich would recognize that. He is smart. Is he so desperate that he is willing to compromise his integrity? To acknowledge FOX as a legitimate News outlet is extremely harmful to his/our cause.

2. I agree with you, but I understand why he is doing it, and actually it may be OK |
|
The particular candidates being presented will represent both the pro-war and anti-war position
In a way, we will have a debate that should have been before the war

4. This is a non-issue. Obama, Hillary, Edwards, have all appeared often on |
|
Fox.
Hillary takes campaign contributions from Murdock, the owner of Fox.
So what's the big deal?
If there were an actual bocott, it might make more sense. But there isn't. This is just circus.

3. Kucinich, Biden, Gravel |

That group ought to scare the crap outa any independent voters left on Fox.
Kucinich and Gravel will provide Sean Insanity enough sound bites to last through 2008.

5. This is what I suspect Fox had in mind by going forward without Edwards/Obama/Clinton... |
|
IT will be all about 'framing' the Democratic Party with sound bites from this 'debate.' Anyone want to bet that Kucinich, Biden and Gravel will be accurately represented in those sound bites?
I am against providing FOX NEWS with any indicia of legitimacy where they clearly are not deserving.
Kucinich, Biden and Gravel should have said no.
Another network would have stepped in if they had said no.

6. Actually, Kucinich and Gravel make a lot of sense, and |
|
sometimes Biden does too. I'll probably watch.
