Letter to my US Senator

US Senator Dianne Feinstein
750 B Street, Suite 1030
San Diego, CA 92101
Phone: (619) 231-9712
Fax: (619) 231-1108

May 30, 2007

Honorable US Senator Dianne Feinstein

I was disturbed by the email I received on May 29th of this year.

In that you told me that nobody would pursue the impeachment of any member of the executive. The talking point used was that it would further divide the country.

Perhaps the country is well ahead of the legislature in this. The 110th was elected to hold these people accountable and to bring the troops home. You have failed on both accounts, so far. The country is divided, and was done by a Corporate Aristroctracy quite successfully. Give the people the illusion of participation and do what needs to be done for their own well being. This is the way of the Third Way, the DLC, and no less Straussian than the Neo-Cons.

You believe we have not noticed? Boy you should get out of the Betlway more often and out of high flutting parties, or a residence that cost sixteen million dollars. That is not where the majority of those you represent live. I might add, we are angry.

With few exceptions, there is little political courage exhibited by this party. In fact, I hate to say, but Ralph Nader was right, when he said that there were little differences between the two parties.

There are remedies to this situation, not that I expect you to exhibit any political courage.

1.- Truly use the power of the purse to bring the troops home. They will slime you either way, and you can bet the Republicans will use this to pursue you. The thirty second commercial is going down either way. But the people know the truth... and the truth is that you caved.

2.- Impeachment and conviction in the Senate is not something you do not do because it will divide the country. Care to tell me how divided the country was in 1974? And exactly who won the bumper crop of representatives in 1976? The difference was, those people who represented us the people back then had political courage, something I fear you and your colleagues lack.

The people are well ahead of you on this one, and many other issues. But insofar as Impeachment is concerned. Zogby did a survey, no press, the people are over 51% for it. You tell me... that is far from divided. The people want it.

I will quote Padme in Star Wars, for we are at this point

“This is how the Republic dies, with thunderous applause.”

It is dead. It died on December 12, 2000. Sadly the Democratic party has played the role of the Social Democrats in this play. I fear I need to remind you what that reference is to. The SDs also folded to every measure that Hitler used to get increasing power. You have folded. First you told us, we are not in the majority, and now you tell us we don’t don’t have the votes... same result, different talking points.

Some day, as you drive down the streets, you may even see a line that also comes from a play... Sic Temper Tyrannus. But the faith, and most importantly hope, that we all had in you is gone.

Remember this, when you go ask for money. Of course this brings me to the next point. Why we are in this quandray. You are not working for we the people, but for the corporations that ensure you remain in power. There is no way I could afford for run for congress. Not at 1.3 million, let alone the Senate, at 7.5 million and rising. We need public financing of elections. Sadly, we cannot expect those who are the foxes, to vote themselves effectively out of power.

Perhaps a third party will challenge you, and it will come as a bolt of lighting.

Perhaps it is too late and when we play taps we should also play taps for the Republic.

Republics are not destroyed from without, but from within. And at this historical juncture I fear you have participated in its destruction.

Sincerely

3. Some Good Points, But Your Whole "Nader Was Right" Ridiculousness Ruined It For Me.
No, that piece of shit nader was right about nothing. No, the parties aren't the same. As long as you are going to include such a mentality in your letter, then I have to give it an 'F'.

you hit them,

This is to wake them up

And as to he was right... I am sorry, but the DLC (Third way) and the neo-cons (both radical and powerful wings of their respective parties) are corporatists and they do not believe we the people have any role in democracy. DIanne Feinstein is DLC.

For the record we have never hit the parrots, not even when they byte, but they are not in power either.

6. Parrots byte? Is that eight nips?
I agree with you on the Nader thing. He may not have been right back then, but the way things are going, he's getting "righter" every day.

Man, I wish we had a viable third party that could actually oppose these corporatist whores.

7. It is going to emerge if the course of US history
repeats itself once again, and it is comming from the least expected corner

Why I made that reference to bolts of lightning. It is an obscure reference to the Grangers and the press of the 1880s

As to my birds biting, they do.

The Nanday, if he seriously tried, he could break a finger... he's being coy

Now smaller birds... when they byte they break skin

:-)

5. Most excellent letter!!!
I've pretty much given up writing and calling reps--it is obvious they have no interest in what we the people have to say.

Way back in '01 I went on a one-person letter-writing campaign against e-voting. Nobody noticed, nobody listened and nobody cared. I even had a lady from the League of Women Voters call me a conspiracy nut.

A few days ago I got an email from DiFi announcing a bill she'd authored or signed onto setting standards for voting machines.

Thanks, Diane. Six years and three stolen elections later, you do something. Thanks.

Hope you have better results.

8. I keep pestering
because I know it took perstering for them to do anything during Watergate

The only way they are going to get ahead of the parade is if we are loud enough

The problem is that it takes time.

And this is one of those... SMACK on the side of the head.

I went, after readying that email, who is this piece of crap shitting? Or trying to whoodwink?
