The military is going after another serviceman speaking out!!
Remember the guy that counted all of AG's 'I don't recall' s ?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yQ9wQjU5UWk

Well, guess what! They're going after him. From 'Not in Our Name' newsletter..
" Two former Marines, Adam Kokesh and Liam Madden, both outspoken members of Iraq Veterans Against the War, have been called by the Marine Corps for hearings meant to revoke their honorable discharges and change them to other than honorable. These courageous men are in need of legal and financial help in order to fight back against the political intimidation tactics of the military. IVAW Executive Director Kelly Dougherty can provide more information on these cases and can be reached at kelly@ivaw.org.

The full story from Adam Kokesh on the recent events and where to donate to his defense can be found at his blog:
http://kokesh.blogspot.com/2007/05/legal-defense-fund-for-adam-kokesh.html"

Let's make sure the courageous men who stand up to * et al are supported!!

I am sick to death of these men and women risking their lives to protect our constitution and not being protected by it. Let's make sure the bastards in the administration know WE know what supporting the troops really means!!!

3. It seems like the USMC brass would know there's a difference between ....

patriotism and jingoism. Or did Rover lean on the Commandant just a little bit?

4. Its sick that they fuck up these guys' lives because they spoke out, but keep in mind
when you join the military, you pretty much give up all of your rights, even after you are discharged.

5. "give up all of your rights, even after you are discharged"
That's news to me. Never heard of such a thing. I was discharged in '72, so according to you I can still be sanctioned by Uncle Sam for speaking out? I seriously doubt your ascertion.

6. You're their puppet while you're enlisted, and they can change your record at any time if they like
Who would stop them?

8. Not likely
At least for those of us who have been out for a decade or more. They can try to change my record, unfortunately for them I'm a packrat when it comes to paperwork, and have everything I need to prove otherwise!

freaking piece of paper related to my 24 years and will most likely have them til I die; including my medical record. I think I'll leave them to my nephews.

18. I'm not familiar with the case
If he were on active duty when this occurred I can imagine the Marines making his life miserable but If he were honorably discharged it baffles me. He could still be in the IRR (Individual Ready Reserve) where you don't have to do anything with the Marines unless they call you up for the specific purpose of filling a billet needed relative to war or you have a particular job skill required by the military. The most times I saw that in the Navy was a Doctor who had a certain skill which was needed, like a brain surgeon. Or plumbers or electricians needed for building projects.

13. I was drafted and was nobody's puppet. "They" are most likely
incapable of even accessing records. You better watch out for "They" and "Them", "They" are gonna getcha.

19. Can I get a pound of whatever it is that you are smoking? Only someone of
your mentality would obey an order without question or thought. Where you never told to do something by someone in authority? What an incredibly assinine statement among many assinine statements you have made on this posting.

20. as you may know, since you claim military service, the military is not like civilain life
your boss tells you to do something, if you disagree with it you can refuse to obey and possibly be fired.

In the military, you follow orders or go to prison. Its not a democracy, there is no "I don't think that's a good idea, sir"...

7. After reading the charges they seem to have a point
But it's still lame considering that they placed him on active duty only to have him mow grass for a year instead of letting him do what he was trained for.

And by giving him a re up code of 4, they make this look exactly like what it is, intimidation.

The command is well within its rights to hold the hearing at its HQ, and he was given at least 2 weeks notice, something that under military requirements can be compared to an eternity. The up side is that the Marines should have to pay for his travel and his living expenses for the entire period that he'll be on active duty.

Yeah, he shouldn't have sent the email, but hit the delete key and move on with life. Don't spend money on this dog and pony show just to prove you have the bigger wanker.
