1. we SHOULD be letting 2 million in.
2 MILLION displaced - refugees in jordan, syria, or internally.

our responsibility is massive. our recognition of this is laughable.

7000? is that some kind of joke?

4. yes. that's where they'll feel most at home.

5. Why would they send them to Detroit when the economy is already bad...
in that area. I heard that they will be getting housing and job training. With the good economy and wide open spaces in the states I mentioned above that is where they should be settling especially Wyoming (Cheney's state) these states support bush and all of his policies so why not place them there. They want to burden a state that is already having problems with their economy. The bush lovers claim they want to liberate the Iraqis so here is a chance to do so. They should be spread out all over the country and when they arrive I hope that they will.

7. That's cool...

it really is. It'll hopefully help boost up the poor world impression of the US right now.

But there is an incongruity: Aren't people in Detroit otherwise losing jobs all over the place? I keep hearing it's bad there.

(Edit: Clarifying commentary.)

8. It is ...
I live in michigan. This state is already having a hard time with the layoffs and trying to retrain people, and there are many budget cuts. Just because there is a middle eastern population here that is no reason to place them all here spread the freedom and liberation to the red states also.

6. Well, if it's been said US soldiers help them by day, and at night they try to kill the troops,
who knows? Best not to think about it. It becomes too easy to wallow into scary thoughts.

9. Is that the number they are planning on airlifting off the embassy roof?
I didn't think Bush had a Plan B yet.
