Democrats snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.....
With the Democrats “giving the President what he wanted” on Iraq, the average person in our nation now thinks Democrats and Bush are jointly responsible for the current “mess” in Iraq.

Isn't it obvious as to why the Democrats want impeachment off the table? They want the next election to be a referendum on the current occupiers of the WH so no better way to keep that smelly fish dangling in front of our collective noses than to keep them in office until then....oh, and the other reason is they support what is going on in Iraq. They are all for the occupation of Iraq. They just would have done it differently.

1. Lets see some evidence that the "average" person holds Democrats and chimpy jointly responsible
for the mess in Iraq. A poll? Anything? Or just some bloggers' delusions.

2. I heard it the other day
from two farmer guys, typical Kansas Republicans who I have been nurturing along quite successfully until now. Seriously, they met me at the door asking me why they needed to vote for liberals when they were no different than the conservatives. I tried and I tried some more but I could not come up with a good reason. Their comment that the Democrats were just playing politics with the lives of our soldiers was something I could not refute. I give up. I can't support this or those who voted for it or those who stood by to see what way the wind was blowing before they voted.

7. You asked about the average person
it is not my fault you do not like the answer. Average people are saying this and it is impossible to spin any other way than the Dems seem more concerned about their own elections than the lives of those that will be lost between now and the next vote. That is the way it is, we now own this war as well as the Republicans.

It's the latest Repub talking point. It has currency on NPR
now (thanks to Steve Inskeep) and it will be firmly believed
by all the rubes within a few weeks.

It ain't just a "bloggers' delusion".

3. Democrats are no different from Republicans?
I would have thought the Bush Years might have given us a lesson in how that might not be accurate, but I guess not.

5. What we have in our country is the OJ Party and the OJ Jury Party.

The comment by the Kansans about playing politics with the lives of the soldiers is pretty telling. And it's pretty damn hard to say where it's not true. Goddammit.

Or put it another way: I believe it was Edmund Burke who said that all that's necessary for the triumph of evil is for good people to do nothing. The Democratic Party is the party of those good people.:evilfrown:
