A Spreading Terror - BUSH - Thumping Himself On The Chest 3 Times-Repeating "I Am The President!"
A spreading terror

Iraq now set up as a school for insurgents ready to be exported, says GEORGIE ANNE GEYER
May 31, 2007

....................

The White House sees terrorists as born, not created by history, bearing the mark of Cain, not the mark of circumstance. There is a scarlet "T" written on their foreheads at birth and the only answer is to destroy them. This kind of thinking, of course, relieves the thinker of any responsibility for the presence of the insurgent-terrorist-whatever in our innocent midst.

What's more, there is not much real give in the administration's policies. True, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and other American diplomats met Memorial Day weekend with the Iranians in Baghdad (a good first move but limited, since the Iranians have most of the power because of our incredible stupidity in Iraq). But by all reports, President Bush is more convinced than ever of his righteousness.

Friends of his from Texas were shocked recently to find him nearly wild-eyed, thumping himself on the chest three times while he repeated "I am the president!" He also made it clear he was setting Iraq up so his successor could not get out of "our country's destiny."

84. Otay I'm back, but it didn't work out!
I tried to plot and plan like a pubby would do, but I was too honest and kind to ever pull it off.

I reckon I'm a democrat at heart and I could never do the kind of bullshit the pubs do every day and then go to church on Sunday and brag about what great folks they are. If they really believed in God they'd know that it says about 56767898098987 times in the Bible that you can't fool God.

I can't lie, cheat, steal, plunder and pillage, because I know those things are just WRONG. God never told me about right and wrong, but Mom and Dad did. I'm glad my parents were democrats.

10. Writer captures my feelings about the use of the label "evil"
perfectly. Simplistically slap a label of evil on a group of people and everything looks black and white, but in truth, there are many shades of grey. If someone is "evil" the fault is all theirs. You are the "good guy" and they must completely submit with your demands or face your wrath. You don't negotiate with evil. It must be destroyed.

It's scary that our foreign policy is based on a juvenile comic book view of the world. George Bush thinks that he is much more than just the president. He thinks he is God with the authority to judge people and mete out the ultimate punishment.

* is a madman, they need to invoke the 25th Amendment, but what is it with these Senators and Reps who don't see impeachable offenses, wtf is wrong with them, we need to be heard seriously.

http://www.suntimes.com/news/nation/404612,CST-NWS-bush29.article

just a snip:scared:

Confronted with strong opposition to his Iraq policies, President Bush decides to interpret public opinion his own way. Actually, he says, people agree with him.
Democrats view the November elections that gave them control of Congress as a mandate to bring U.S. troops home from Iraq. They're backed by evidence; election exit poll surveys by the Associated Press and television networks found 55 percent saying the U.S. should withdraw some or all of its troops from Iraq.

The president says Democrats have it wrong: the public doesn't want the troops pulled out -- they want to give the military more support in its mission.

34. America really missed the boat in 2004
At the time it was hard for me to believe that so many people had voted in their ignorance, not allowing themselves to become really informed about which man was competent. Did they watch the debates? It still amazes me that they re-elected the Chump. Shows what a complicit media is able to do, coupled with fear, which drives out reason.

Not only is he incompetent,he appears to be getting more and more unbalanced as time goes on. Reagan had Alzheimers's, but this one has Megalomania.

39. It's all about fear, hatred and uncertainty.
Fear of looking "French" or "queer" for voting democratic, even though they KNEW in their hearts the Failure Fuhrer didn't have their best interests in mind and got routed badly (looking like a complete LOON in the process to boot) in all three debates.

Hatred of someone or something - in this case, homosexuals, abortion and media-demonized liberals.

Uncertainty - the whole "can't switch horsemen in the middle of the Apocalypse!" deal.

Once they hit the chest-thumping "I am the Great Poobah" stage, well...there's not much hope for reason to take hold.

I would like to know who the "friends from Texas" are and can we get them to go on record about the chest thumping tirade.

I don't want to cast asparagus here, but "friends from Texas" is a lot like the "some people say" school of "journalism" we have been witnessing lately. I have little or no doubt that LLPP* has a propensity to throw such tantrums, but it would sure be nice to get them nailed down on record AND get the MSM to actually report it for a change.

Then maybe the whole country could start waking up to what a nightmare this asshat is.

53. LOL
I try to keep a light heart in these trying times.

Like I said, I have little doubt that Bu$h did thump his chest and act like Napoleon, hell, he probably dresses up in blue tights with a big red "W" on the chest and chases Condi around the White House, but without someone going in record hard and unflappable, the general public will never get the hard look at this madman that we have already taken.

55. Yes, we officially have a deranged, psychotic man in the Presidency...(Froomkin)
Words fail me, but I am now officially frightened:

But Bush Isn't Listening

Georgie Anne Geyer writes in her Dallas Morning News column that when it comes to his war in Iraq, "by all reports, President Bush is more convinced than ever of his righteousness.

"Friends of his from Texas were shocked recently to find him nearly wild-eyed, thumping himself on the chest three times while he repeated 'I am the president!' He also made it clear he was setting Iraq up so his successor could not get out of 'our country's destiny.'"

Link to the Geyer column.

59. There has to be some way to remove him....
...other than impeachment. The country is clearly in a clear and present danger as a result of him and his familiars.

62. he is a threat to our national security, and I am getting to the
point of calling whoever and whomever to say this man is not well, and not fit to hold office, he is a threat to all of us. Maybe we should all call our Reps and Senators and put this out there, I don't care if people call me crazy, something needs to be done. Invoke the 25th Amendment if these Senators still believe in it, why is everyone so afraid to talk up against this maniac, we all can see what is happening. just my rant.

85. Thinkin Cheney is counting on 'some way' other than impeachment.
Cheney needs a BIG situation to justify implementing all those shiney new powers the executive branch insists they can assume over ALL branches of government in case of a BIG emergency.

Cheney is goin down fast these days & he doesn't seem the type to go along peacefully when he gets yanked outta his lucrative office by impeachment.

This worries me. The chimp goes ape and all the sudden they let protesters get close enough that he has to notice them. Somebody getting set up to be an emergency? The man is nuts, but he has to have some sense of self preservation. He has to be feeling the heat and if he isn't doin his job selling the slop to the nation, he might just feel the need to calm himself with the delusion that he is actually the one in charge.

Poor dumb fucker must be feeling pretty jumpy these days. Unca Dick must be hell to deal with as the heat ratchets up.

to ignore Nixon's orders and when to carry them out.

71. It's interesting that you mention the anti-convulsives because I've speculated, for some time...
...that Bush is on anti-seizure medication. Rare close-ups that reveal the condition of his mouth have made me wonder if he takes Dilantin (or a similar barbiturate), which wreaks havoc on the gums and teeth. I've wondered, in fact, if he even has his own teeth. They seem to be receded quite far back into his mouth, as seen in the gum and bone atrophy of long-term denture wearers.

The need for anti-seizure medication would also be consistent with his odd accidents, such as falling off his couch and his bike, plus the other scrapes and bruises that he sports, from time to time, without providing any public explanation.

Another interesting clue is that the man is clearly dyslexic, and it's been documented that as many as a third of epileptics suffer from dyslexia.

In the picture below, he was in Scotland, I believe, and dressed only in his underwear, probably getting ready to retire for the night. You might recall that this shot resulted in an uproar because nobody should have been able to get that close to a window into his private quarters. A big deal was also made of the holes along the seam of his undershirt. But I always thought that the interesting thing about it was that he appeared to be toothless and quite medicated.

75. Worth reading the whole piece.
It was somewhat new to me - the camps. Now we've created millions more refugees. So sad. And so sad that our country is so oblivious to our role in strengthening terror. Our president...what's left to say...?

76. Several times I've seen Bu$h on the news lately
I'm convinced he's been drinking. He has all the symptoms of an alcoholic that's relapsed: the glassy-eyed stare, the slurred speech, the way he walks very carefully to avoid stumbling, the nervous tics. The way his "handlers" hustle him off after his prepared speeches so that he isn't compelled to take questions strengthen my suspicions.

Whether it's alcohol, medication or a worsening neurological/psychiatric disorder, the fact is that the man is not in full possession of whatever limited faculties he has. It explains this whole Gonzalez fiasco: no one with a lick of sense could publicly state that Gonzo is doing a great job. If someone doesn't intervene, and soon, things could get even worse, and heaven knows they're already in the toilet.
