"wild-eyed" George; "I am the president! I am the president! I am the president!"
A spreading terror

Friends of his from Texas were shocked recently to find him nearly wild-eyed, thumping himself on the chest three times while he repeated "I am the president!" He also made it clear he was setting Iraq up so his successor could not get out of "our country's destiny."

It's probably worth noting that three of those four symptoms you describe aren't exactly insanity. If Bush suffers from sadism, megalomania, and/or sociopathy, he's still responsible for his actions. He might be a sadist, megalomaniac, or sociopath, but unless he's actually schizophrenic (a diagnosis that can't be made by TV, no matter how renouned you are), he isn't insane; he's just really fucked up.

101. Well, IMO Opinion SOMETHING Should Have Been Done When He
announced that he was "The Decider!" What more evidence was there about his state of mind?? American Presidents aren't "The Decider's" that's so evident to me and it's also a clear signal that he's DELUSIONAL!!

But the more serious problem is that 435 Congress-people and 100 Senators are idly sitting by and watching this country go down the drain by this SIMPLETON! I don't relish saying these things, but LEADERSHIP is seriously lacking! But that so many who are supposed to be the "watch-dogs" are nothing more than WIMPS!

It matters not to me anymore when a country that was once great is completely unable to put a STOP to this behavior! I'm at the end of my rope and feel that I'm totally unable to exact any type of change! I think I understand the reality of being Globally connected because it's inevitable, but his obstinacy is going to be the RUIN of the U.S. of ASS!

As an American I feel helpless to the "powers that be!" We are at the mercy of Corporate Greed!

I recently heard that today in America, a country of almost 300 million... only 10 million belong to a Union! I KNOW Unions have sold out to many issues, but I would have NOTHING had it not been for their support!

I have no answers and I've fought for this country by being an activist, by I feel now that I'm nothing but a loser!!!

are blasphemously starting to question God's will by their questioning of him and his war. "God" must not be very happy with his management of the situation. Amazing thing is how he managed to maintain a facade of sanity thru his first few years, but it's gone now. Won't be long before he has a bizarre and public back-and-forth argument with himself. 52. Such a diagnosis disserves people with treatable mental illnesses
Such behavior is not at all atypical of those with Axis-II personality disorders, particularly Narcissistic Personality Disorder. There's no doubt in my little layman's mind that he's a pathological narcissist. This is NOT a treatable condition. What might appear as a psychotic break is nothing more than the abysmal absence of empathy, compassion, or any other respect for others that might interfere with his insatiable addiction to attention and response.

Anyone who's had to deal directly with a pathological narcissist has seen this behavior. It's NOT a psychosis.

Chimpy, and he does seem to have the qualities of a narcissist, what with the referral to his Decider status and his "I'm the President" tantrum. He even said he wanted to be a "war president" before he was elected in 2000--probably not even pausing to consider the horrors of war. Also, he was always bailed out of failures as a kid, and given a pass on everything from academics to military service, because of his parents--he may not even be personally aware of this--most likely his parents just quietly got friends and connections to cover for him, while giving him the credit, which would reinforce a narcissistic person's belief that everything in the world revolves around him and that he has great impact on things around him. His goofy attention-drawing antics at many appearance also reinforces your diagnosis. However, given that he may have permanently altered his brain cells and neurotransmitters with years of Johnnie Walker and Colombian bam-bam, the beginnings of psychosis might be plausible, and since mental disorders often overlap and coexist, narcissism doesn't rule out psychosis.

69. This Master's Degree in Psychology ... and retired social worker ...
happens to agree with you. No one is more familiar with that kind of personality. My mother has it. I argue with my psychologist friend all of the time. I find the DSM system somewhat lacking (the current diagnostic system). I argue that, with my mom, the bottom line is always that narcissism. It is the 'be-all' and 'end-all' of understanding her. When the pawns do not do as she wishes (and all of us are the pawns, for she is the center of the world), that rage comes out. I'll bet you understand what I mean. In her mind, ANYTHING is then justified. In her mind, what's good for her ... must be good for the rest of us ... because, after all, she is the center of the universe.

83. You bet I know what you mean.
Not just from knowing such people (and, yes, my mother is the poster girl for 'inconsiderate'), but from introspection, study, and working with others. The Hallmark of NPD seems to be the complete dismissal of the values, principles, and well-being of others - when it doesn't 'fit' the narcissist's game plan. The amnesty they give themselves for the pains inflicted on others ("I didn't mean to hurt anyone") is complete - particularly if the choose to disagree that the other person "should" feel that way. It's jaw-droppingly amazing how dismissive the narcissist can be of the honest feedback of others insulted or demeaned by their behavior. Others are not afforded any respect - and narcissists choose to employ 'polite' or 'courteous' as both a defense ("I didn't use such language") and as an offense (disagreement is impolite). At the same time, absolutely everything they do or say serves their own agenda.

One of the telling minor symptoms of a narcissist in your midst (e.g. family) is the person who just cannot EVER seem to think of a gift (birthday or Christmas) that actually reflects the recipient's taste and preferences. It's always something the narcissist deems 'giftable' - even when it's something that the recipient has plainly indicated a disinterest in or dislike of in the past. (Such representations are usually discarded from the narcissist's 'world' - unless their agenda includes some self-serving manipulation of that person's regard.)

It couldn't be plainer that the Chimperor is a pathological narcissist if it were tattoo'd in bold letters all over his face.

It's clear that they (especially Cheney!) manipulate Smirk's behavior using his disorder as puppet stings.

132. Sad isn't it that the journalists who covered him in 2000 couldn't see that
Edited on Fri Jun-01-07 12:16 AM by demgrrrll
they were just a source of Narcissistic supply and that the so called "charm" was just a ruse. I remember when the so called election was over and he was at one of his parties and the journalists called after him. He was immediately dismissive and it was obvious that since he had already "won" that they were of no further immediate use to him. People aren't people to Narcissists. They are a source of supply or they are of no value at all, just objects to be manipulated to gain whatever it is the Narcissist needs.

Sad lives....

Dewey was also station chief during this episode and had to leave Italy because the Italian Prosecutors wanted to 'Talk' to him.

This was a Gladio op.

Bologna massacre
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Bologna massacre (Italian: Strage di Bologna) was a terrorist bombing at the Central Station of Bologna, Italy on the morning of August 2, 1980, which killed 85 people and wounded more than 200. The far-right terrorist organization Ordine Nuovo has been accused of it, while two SISMI (Italian secret service) agents and the headmaster of P2 masonic lodge, Licio Gelli, were convicted for investigation diversion.

At 10:25 a.m., a timed improvised explosive device (IED) contained in an unattended suitcase detonated inside a popular air-conditioned waiting room. The IED was made of TNT and T4. The explosion destroyed most of the main building and hit the Ancona-Chiasso train that was waiting at the first platform. The blast was heard for miles. The roof of the waiting room collapsed onto the passengers, which greatly increased the total number killed in the terrorist attack.

20. "The White House sees terrorists as born, not created by history. . ."
The OP's quote comes from an article reporting the exporting of terrorism from Iraq. It's very good and worth a read. Here's some more from it:

"The White House sees terrorists as born, not created by history, bearing the mark of Cain, not the mark of circumstance. There is a scarlet "T" written on their foreheads at birth and the only answer is to destroy them. This kind of thinking, of course, relieves the thinker of any responsibility for the presence of the insurgent-terrorist-whatever in our innocent midst.

What's more, there is not much real give in the administration's policies. True, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and other American diplomats met Memorial Day weekend with the Iranians in Baghdad (a good first move but limited, since the Iranians have most of the power because of our incredible stupidity in Iraq). But by all reports, President Bush is more convinced than ever of his righteousness.

***************************
The truth of the steadily deteriorating situation in the Middle East is, of course, quite different. The Palestinian people of 40 and even 30 years ago were formal, conservative people who remained closely tied to their families, clans and religious groups. Theirs was a highly stratified society, which has now been shattered.

In the institutional vacuum that is a camp like Nahr el-Bared, a few hundred men trained and tempered in Iraq can make a huge difference. At the same time, the Turkish military is ready to go into northern Kurdistan, al-Qaeda operatives from Iraq are popping up in hitherto untouched places, and the American military's advice to its troops is, "Get down with the people – listen to them!" Only four years and thousands of bombs and night missions too late.

21. Would other countries put up with such a looney-tune whack-a-doo as Bewsh?
I think he'd be frog-marched to the nearest detention center. There'd be uprisings. There'd be strikes.

Here, there's saturated fat, shiny objects, toys, comfort zones from which we can't be pried from and a corporate military (not the one fighting a worthless conflict in Iraq) that would most likely fire on their own citizens to protect the interests of the "Betters" should we shed all of these distractions.

We never will forcibly remove the Failure Fuhrer, though. Fear of death, unemployment and imprisonment takes care of that.

24. Paging Der Fuhrer, you're needed in the bunker...and other quotes from another megalomaniac
"If the war is lost, the nation will also perish. This fate is inevitable. There is no necessity to take into consideration the basis which the people will need to continue a most primitive existence. On the contrary, it will be better to destroy things ourselves because this nation will have proved to be the weaker one and the future will belong solely to the stronger eastern nation . Besides, those who remain after the battle are only the inferior ones, for the good ones have been killed."

Hitler, March 1945

"There must be no majority decisions, but only responsible persons, and the word 'council' must be restored to its original meaning. Surely every man will have advisers by his side, but the decision will be made by one man."

Mein Kampf

"For there is one thing we must never forget… the majority can never replace the man. And no more than a hundred empty heads make one wise man will an heroic decision arise from a hundred cowards."

Mein Kampf

"Who says I am not under the special protection of God?"

Oh boy.

http://bible.cc/luke/9-5.htm

KJV: And whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them.

They won't listen to the message so leave until invited back. Abandon the 14 Permanent Bases (if Congress hasn't cut funding already) along with the huge Embassy. Pull back to the old Gulf War 'staging areas' and Kuwait, Qatar, etc.

Let the situation settle itself. It's an occupation now during a civil war. Quagmire.

And I'm sure you are too ! Enough is enough and it's obvious now. The only good thing that can come out of the next 18 months of Bush's administration (sic) is that it will underscore why a Democratic Congress and executive is NECESSARY. The ensuing tidal wave of progressive policies will then be a new Golden Age in our politics. This all assumes that the moneypower and lobbyists are all exposed and etched into the new Democratic majority's mindset that they won't make the same mistakes as the GOP dummkopfs.

dump it into the lap of his successor who will be a Democrat. It will suck all the oxygen out of the beginning of a new Democratic administration. The Democratic Congress must get us out of Iraq before January 20, 2009 - so that the new administration can begin with a clean start. Out NOW.

91. What strikes me is who wrote the opinion piece.
Georgie Anne Geyer is a staunchly conservative witch. She is as bad as Schafley IMHO. To me, besides showing how batshit crazy * is, it also illustrates how much of his base is deteriorating.

or should we take it as "every man for himself" I really don't think this Congress is going to do anything, and don't they usually take their cues from us, the American people, the more we push the Congress will do something/anything?

Not sure, but we sure have plenty of evidence. But again, we would in that case get Cheney. Good God how did we ever allow ourselves to get so royally screwed.

Ok, here it is; Section 4

Section 4. Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.

106. White House sees terrorists as born, not created by history,
And so, on the one hand, you have weakened societies vulnerable to the "new answers" of "new insurgencies," and on the other hand, you have Iraq set up as a school for terrorists with American troops and policy providing the constant inspiration for their fight.

This, of course, is not the way the Bush administration sees it.

The White House sees terrorists as born, not created by history, bearing the mark of Cain, not the mark of circumstance.

107. Soooo...Iraq IS a holy war, after all. I can't believe this has happened
in our country.

Wasn't it a couple of years ago that there were statements of his leaked to another foreign dignitary that God told him to war with Iraq? And hasn't it been explained to the public that many evangelicals, and likely Bush, who think this is part of God's plan, to wipe out the "evildoers" so that Christians can prevail, leading up to the Apocolypse? Which is why Jewish people must keep control of Jerusalem...it's part of the Apocolypse in that the Jewish people must die there?

This guy is certifiable. What's even scarier is that millions voted for him.

And I don't have the confidence now that the Dems in Congress can stop this madness. What else he's likely to do in the next year, we can only bite our fingernails and wait to see.

142. * is so freakishly obsessed with loyalty, so who is it who tells us these things?
This story, the stories about him overturning dinner plates when he didn't like the food, "the Constitution's just a goddam piece of paper," all of the highly unflattering flying-into-a-rage-when-he-doesn't-get-his-way stories. It's not that I don't believe the stories, I just wonder who has the cajones to violate the * insistance on total secrecy and loyalty.

168. The saga of President Bush in about 10 years ...
"I am the President, I am the President!!" declares George Bush.

"Yes, you are the President. But now its time to eat your apple sauce, Mr. President." replies his personal nurse Katrina.

The former Presidtent smiles, "I like apple sauce!", he responds, "It's American."

"Yes it is Mr. President."

Katrina leaves the room and smiles to herself. "I'm sure I used enough sedatives this time, at least WE'VE anticipated the breech of HIS leeves".
