13. Given the hostilities between Muslims and Jews, is it really
a wise move to have Lieberman visiting a Muslim country that is full of Al-Queda?

:wtf:

Joe, go HOME!

15. I thought McCain said it was safe to go shopping
and the other Senator said it was like a flea market in Indiana.... I don't know about anyone else, but this looks less than safe and I have never had a flea market experience like this...

16. If you wear a helmet and flak jacket and are surrounded by armed guards
It's almost TOTALLY safe. Except for the car bombs.

17. I dunno, take a look at this photo and see if you see what DUer Aviation Pro
saw and I finally did after he pointed it out--can you say big time photo-op?

Hint: it concerns the headgear, but not Burt the Turtle's...

20. Why would Lieberman wear that helmet if he or someone weren't afraid
his forehead made a tempting target out in Baghdad? They had to have known he looked ridiculous, especially after McCain caught hell for pulling the same stunt--WITHOUT a helmet!--and decided better safe than sorry. Nothing ruins a good photo op like brains oozing through a head wound.

Edited on Thu May-31-07 02:06 PM by BurtWorm
Or gutsy?

McCain and Graham didn't wear helmets either. I think someone talked Bert the Turtle into believing his brain was a bullet magnet outside of its shell. But what do I know?

33. My thoughts: nekkid man is media or in the Senator's entourage,
the rest are truly grunts and were ordered to wear the gear so as not to embarrass Burt the Turtle...

Sometimes I'm so suspicious I'm ashamed of myself...

34. Wouldn't that mean Baghdad is really not as dangerous as we all think it is?
And if so, why would they humor Lieberman by pretending it was less safe. Wouldn't they want the world to see how safe it was?

I know this idea didn't originate with you, but I'm just saying it doesn't make any sense to me. I believe Lieberman was in danger. Why the other guy wasn't in a helmet, I don't know, except that McCain and Graham went helmetless when they also foolishly tried to show they weren't as full of shit about the security in Baghdad as Lieberman clearly is.

35. My skepticism is about where, exactly, he is in Baghdad.
While I'm sure he's in Baghdad somewhere in the photo, we don't know how "accessible" it might be to the locals--or whether it might be protected by Blackwater, et al.

In a nutshell:

I think he's truly in Baghdad, that those with headgear really are soldiers (possibly Blackwater), ordered to wear headgear, but the sunglass guy seems a bit too relaxed to be in much of harm's way.
