Apparently, according to TODAY more people are using Nannies |
|
Intersting. Had a story on the increase use of Nannies because of all the working women, ect and the pro's and con's of nannies vs. moms and how to make it all work. I wish they would do a story on affordable daycare and having work places add or subsidize day care, because while the use of Nannies (I keep seeing Mary Poppins) is increasing, I'm sure the vast majority of people can't afford to have a nanny and use daycare.

3. Personal note - a nanny becomes affordable if you have 2 kids |
|
or more.
When my son was in a very good Montessori program, I paid more per year than I did for college. (True, I went to a state school, and it was 15 years ago, but still!)
I couldn't afford to have two kids in that program at the same time. A good nanny is more expensive than daycare for one kid, but less than it would be for two, by a considerable amount too!
