Ultimately it's all centered around oil, the endless needs of the military industrial complex, and various other financial interests masquerading as ideology. But there isn't one reason, just a grand harmonic convergence of wingnuttery.

I am increasingly convinced that the first persons that should be deployed when the US Congress and President start a war are all of their fighting age (18 to 45) children and grand children.

7. I don't think it was cowardice. It was mostly complicity

Democrats represent states and districts with defense contractors, and even if they don't get much money from big oil, they can imagine being on the receiving end of a right wing smear campaign.

It's all about the benjamins.

If you read the history of the DLC, the corporate suits realized they needed to hedge their bets and buy democrats as republicans because blatantly business owned politicians would not win in some areas. So you get senators like California's Dianne Feinstein, who is nice and liberal on cultural issues like abortion, gays, and gun control, but whose husband makes hundreds of millions on Iraq War contracts. And of course she voted for the war.

1. Over 130 Democrats voted against the war, contrast this to TWO Republicans.
2. Democrats were lied to like the rest of the nation.

I'm so tired of lumping Democrats in with Republicans, let's stop doing Limbaugh's work for him guys.
