The tunnels are shut down in Pittsburgh
Edited on Thu May-31-07 05:02 PM by spinbaby
Both Fort Pitt and Squirrel Hill during rush hour for a "police investigation."

On edit--looks like total gridlock. For those of you unfamiliar with Pittsburgh, these tunnels are major commuter routes.

Channel 4 just said it was a bomb threat.

16. Feh.
It's only Alan Faneca blocking the tunnels in a protest to get a new contract from the Steelers.

Grrrr!

6. Bomb threat
Called in from a pay phone on Carson Street early in the afternoon and threatened to blow the tunnels at 6:00.

8. Yeah. It will be nasty.
I had to drive through the Squirrel Hill Tunnels everyday when I worked in Pittsburgh. I remember being tied up for hours because of an accident in one side of one of the tunnels. I can't imagine BOTH tunnels being shut down in both directions.

7. Just the daily "FEAR" alert to keep your eyes off the important things
being pulled on America.

Wake up, people!

11. Jeez, why not all the bridges while they're at it? Then you are guaranteed that no one can get out
of town.

17. That's how I used to get home everyday to the South Hills--
shutting down tunnels in the 'Burgh, especially the Tubes, is a bad, BAD day for a lot of people. Ah, Pittsburgh and its unique topography. Good times!

there's a hell of a storm headed that way. She's in Harmony and the storm is heading south.

13. Extra added bonus
Looks like there's a thunderstorm going on. They're reporting that they found a package near the Liberty Tubes.

14. That's gonna be a mess.
I grew up in Oakland, so had to go through the tunnels to get to the airport or to see my brother out in Monroeville.
