head of NASA says he's not sure global warming is a problem
Everyone needs to call for this guys resignation:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18964176/

"WASHINGTON - The head of NASA said he was not sure global warming was a problem and added that it would be “arrogant” to assume the world’s climate should not change in the future. Scientists called the remarks ignorant."

8. Nice followup to this on NPR
Here. I couldn't believe it when I heard the assertion on Morning Edition, and then tonight on the way home there was that interview on All Things Considered.

9. My guess is that a lot of people who deny global warming
actually do realize it exists, but think that good things will come of it. Kinda like this guy's statement about it being arrogant to assume the climate shouldnt' change. I think people (I use the term loosely) like Cheney are licking their chops over global warming. Imagine all the new areas to drill for oil under those melted ice sheets. And the fact that millions of people will be displaced for it is a small price to pay for their added wealth.

11. But, he's pretty sure about his future employment as a spokesman for Exxon.
I heard his interview on NPR this morning. His mastery of weasel words is somewhat tenuous but he's obviously working on them.

12. What? Then he should read the NASA report saying that 10 years is the
tipping point for global warning. Or, does he not believe his own agency's conclusions?

With just 10 more years of "business as usual" emissions from the burning of coal, oil and gas, says the NASA/Columbia paper, "it becomes impractical" to avoid "disastrous effects."
