MSNBC "News VIPS" Poll: Rate the Morning Show Replacements
I participate in an online group for MSNBC called NewsVIPS, and a couple of days ago they asked me via email to do a survey on MSNBC's recent Imus replacements - Stephanie, Scarborough, Smerconish, Elder, etc. I was thrilled to do so in the hope that I might have some miniscule impact on their morning programming decision. It was a rather detailed survey with the kinds of things you'd expect - who would you watch, who would you NOT watch, what did you like/dislike about varoius shows, etc.

I ranked Stephanie Miller tops BY FAR. Smerconish, Elder, Bow-Tie Boy Tucker -- bottom of the heap. Scarborough and David Gregory in the middle.

Has anybody else participated in the NewsVIPS panel? Done this particular survey?

1. Yep! I received the same email, and I voted the same as you did.
I wonder if there is a way to see what their results were?

2. I too have watched the new morning
show on a couple of occasions. There seems to be only one
thing wrong with Scarborough, et al. They are NOT Imus.

4. Yes, I participate in the VIPS surveys. I ranked Stephanie Miller

towards the bottom. above Larry Elder, but below Joe Scarbrough. Personally, I thought Jim Cramer did the best job of morning show fill-in, and would like to see him take the slot over permanently. Miller may be good radio, but I feel she makes for lousy television.

5. I participated and voted Stephanie,
David Gregory and Elder. I can't stand joe he is such a moron. He has the job though so I hear. Too bad I wonder what kind of a idiot show they will put on in place of him at night? I hate those doc o dramas. I will be reduced to watching KO and sometimes chris matthews.
too bsd.

7. ELDER!!!???!!! Are you kidding me?
I didn't know much about him before, but he came off as a total wingnut idiot. There are already more than enough of those on the tube.

8. There was no link -- by invitation
I don't recall how I came to be asked to participate originally. You may try going to the MSNBC website and search on NewsVIPS.

9. Looks like the search may be over and Scarborough may be the man
Scarborough's The Favorite: MSNBC, WFAN May Be Near "Morning Joe" Deal

MSNBC's favorite to replace Imus in the Morning is Joe Scarborough. And WFAN is taking a liking to him too, TVNewser hears.

Scarborough was at WFAN's headquarters in Queens yesterday and today, hosting Morning Joe on TV and radio. The cable net and the radio station may be nearing an agreement to give Scarborough a permanent morning show seat.

MSNBC is feeling good about Morning Joe. On Wednesday, he tied American Morning in the demo between 6 and 9am. He actually beat CNN during the 8am hour and had the second highest rated hour on MSNBC all day. "There's some pretty good momentum behind him," an insider says.

He'll be back in the morning on MSNBC next Wednesday through Friday. The rotation of anchors may be over soon...
