2. There are several suspicious areas around the Gulf
and activity is finally picking up off the coast of Africa.

The forecasters might actually be correct this year, although I hope not.

6. No. This is a blessing. Florida and Georgia needs rain.
The chance of becoming a hurricane, in my opinion is less that 2%.

11. Indeed. Also, it will certainly put out a lot of those fires.
Once this thing hits land, it will spread out like all tropical systems do, and blanket much of the southern east coast with much needed rain.

16. He seems to be bucking the odds
The winds are up to 60ish mph during the invest flight and they may upgrade it to hurricane before it makes landfall.

15. North Carolina needs this rain desperately as well.
Some times these storms turn into a tropical depression, with little wind, lots of water, very quickly.

I may call this storm, "Barry the Good".

big of surge, wind, rain, but tornados will be a problem. Best of luck to those having Barry visit.

21. This storm really is a blessing
It has NO chance to develop into a seriously damaging storm, but it is producing lots of rain currently over South and Central Florida. Most of the rain is east of the center and the forecast track has it dumping moisture right over the areas that need it most. I swear I just saw the frogs in my back yard singing and dancing around our baby citrus trees.

We needed this. The dried out bed of Lake Okeechobee was on FIRE, that's how bad we needed it. I never thought I'd be this happy to see rain before.

28. Oh, Lord! Let it come to the Tennessee Valley!
We are over 15" below norm this year so far. The crops are dying in the near 90F sun every day, the sky is disgusting from the forest fires all the way down towards Jax and Valdosta, and the dust in the air is only adding insult to injury.

Two weeks ago I had commented on how beautiful the wheat fields outside my house were, with the green stalks waving in the breeze and was amazed that it had not yet fried. . . Well, it is fried now. Luckily, we have a sump pump in our stream beside the house so our garden and yard are doing fine. I have over 2 dozen tomatoes on 4 vines already! I think it is just unheard of here for there not to be spring storms and the ditches overflowing with water after every rain.

I shall dance naked in the rain, should it fall!

I am sick and tired of the city looking like Los Angeles air.
