It's not easy thinking of new names to call them, but I think I've met with some success.

I'm very immature and feel very, very ashamed.

Congratulations for hitting Vivala's post before even Vivala did.

You are the champion, and I most definitely despise...erp...I mean ADMIRE you for it. :loveya:

46. The Hanging Captain Gordon lecture was great
Edited on Sat Jun-02-07 02:49 PM by Robbien
The author was a good speaker (and a pretty good singer). He told his story well.

Interesting fact about how the Captain was treated in prison. For a bribe, the warden let Gordon out of jail. The warden said jail was no place for a man such as Gordon. He felt Gordon was above all the riffraff prisoners. Ha. Bet the warden was surprised when he was told to go ahead and hang Goron.

Jabari Asim is the deputy editor of the Washington Post Book World. He also writes a syndicated, weekly column on popular culture. Bakari Kitwana is the author of three books "Why White Kids Love Hip Hop: Wankstas, Wiggers, Wannabes and the New Reality of Race in America," "The Rap on Gangsta Rap: Who Run It? Oh well. At least the conspiracy lecture later on this afternoon looks promising.

but Conason from Salon jumped on it right away and didn't let Isikoff get away with it.

The Feminine Mistake: Are We Giving Up Too Much?
Leslie Bennetts

In an event at the New York Public Library, Leslie Bennetts and Elissa Schappell debate the premise of Leslie Bennetts's new book, "The Feminine Mistake." Leslie Bennetts is a contributing editor at Vanity Fair magazine. Earlier in her career, she was a reporter at the Philadelphia Bullletin and The New York Times. She was the first woman to cover a presidential campaign for the New York Times. Elissa Schappell is a contributing editor to Vanity Fair magazine and is co-founder and editor-at-large of Tin House. She is the author of "Use Me" and co-editor of "The Friend Who Got Away" and "Money Changes Everything."
