Did anyone else see a clip on maybe CNN in which that breathless twit Mike Allen of Politico
referred to Fred Thompson as "the original Papa Bear?" Did I imagine that? I was busy and the teevee was on as background noise and I just happened to focus on it for a second when I heard that comment and checked to see who made it. I think Allen was talking to Blitzer. I intended to post this sooner but never got around to it. It must have occurred either yesterday early or the late afternoon of the day before. Sorry, it's been a busy week and the days have kind of run together.

Anyway, I just wondered if anyone saw that smarmy sucker from Politico. It looks as though Politico has found their bear.

1. Allen always gets breathless when an (R)'s involved, and it's so
apparent. Twit describes him to a 't'.

protect them. I've heard similar praise for others come from right-wingers in the past, but I just can't put my finger on any examples at the moment for some reason. But yes- that "daddy" motivation comes up alot.

4. Stephen Colbert calls O'Reilly "Papa Bear"
To make fun of this authoritarian father-figure worship.

3. Fred is apparently considering hiring Griffin, the USA from Arkansas.
That would certainly be the wrong way to start since Conyers is about to investigate Griffin/Rove for vote caging in 2004.
