Here we go again.

If you can't get to a TV, there has been another terror plot uncovered. They were not going to target airplanes or people in the airport, just ground operations.

It was not in the final planning stages, and it wasn't a "big one". Three people have already been arrested and a fourth one is being sought.

1. You know, it's really sad that this has happened to us...
Edited on Sat Jun-02-07 11:03 AM by originalpckelly
they've lied to us so many times that we just cannot trust them any more. They have lost all credibility. They've stolen our right to a good government that protects our lives by issuing credible terror warnings. So sickening.

28. Makes ya wonder.
and as a side note, the one "terrorist" is a us citizen, but from Guyana...sooooooooo, maybe we will have to go after Guyana and liberate them from their cells of terrorists, which would be ever so convienient, bordering Venezuala as it does. I know, I am paranoid...but then, who in their right mind isnt paranoid?

6. The second I heard "it was not imminent nor was it a big one"
I knew that this was another one of these scares.

You know I really do think there is a terrorist attack going on here, but it's not being perpetrated by an al-Qaeda linked terrorist group, it's being perpetrated by our own government. They're trying to scare the shit out of us for political purposes, how is that any different than an al-Qaeda terrorist?

5. what happens when someone really does attack us?
We are creating enemies fast than we can kill them and it is only a mattter of time before something does happen. This is not a "terra, terra, terra" scenario , but a suggestion that we work on possibly stopping our actions that are going to breed terrorists (and all of them might not be foreign).

We will reap what we sow, count on it.

9. Maybe it will be realized that Iraq really didn't have anything to do with 9/11
Until the country realizes that in order to solve todays problems we need a new way of thinking, which doesn't include those that created our problems, nothing will change

13. Let me explain why that will never happen
Terrorists spreading out from Iraq, officials say
Insurgents learning from battles there

By Michael Moss, Souad Mekhennet
THE NEW YORK TIMES
Monday, May 28, 2007

When Muhammad al-Darsi got out of prison in Libya last year after serving time for militant activities, he had one goal: killing Americans in Iraq.

A recruiter he found on the Internet arranged to meet him on a bridge in Damascus, Syria. But when he got there, said Darsi, 24, the recruiter told him he was not needed in Iraq. Instead, he was drafted into the war that is seeping out of Iraq.

A team of militants from Iraq had traveled to Jordan, where they were preparing attacks on Americans and Jews, Darsi said the recruiter told him. He asked Darsi to join them and blow himself up in a crowd of tourists at Queen Alia International Airport in Amman.

"I agreed," Darsi said in a nine-page confession to Jordanian authorities after the plot was broken up.

The Iraq war, which for years has drawn militants from around the world, is beginning to export fighters — and the tactics they have honed in the insurgency — to neighboring countries and beyond, according to U.S., European and Middle Eastern government officials and militant leaders in Lebanon, Jordan and London.

Some of the fighters appear to be leaving as part of the waves of Iraqi refugees crossing borders that government officials acknowledge they struggle to control. But others are dispatched from Iraq for specific missions.

In the Jordanian airport plot, officials think the bomb maker flew from Baghdad to prepare the explosives for Darsi.

Estimating the number of fighters leaving Iraq is at least as difficult as it has been to count foreign militants joining the insurgency. But early signs of an exodus are clear, and officials in the United States and the Middle East say the potential for veterans of the insurgency to spread far beyond Iraq is significant.

Oops, sorry. Posted wrong story. I meant to post that newspaper article that showed Iraqis don't care if their country is occupied and all the terrorists are being killed off or are converting to Christianity. Give me a second and I'll post that link.

26. From CNN
" Homeland Security sources said the airport is not under threat and that the attack as planned was "not technically feasible." "

So, let me guess, they had planned to concentrate really hard trying to blow the airport up telekinetically.

17. I really hardly watch news anymore. CNN is getting like Faux News.
The only thing I can think of is they are trying hard to scare us into thinking Bush's policies are all that will protect us. The Dems are weak.

If people could only really step back and look at how Bush's policies have made us so much unsafer.

Just think if he had spent all of the Iraq money on our defense here in this country. Border security, port security, airport security, better police protection. R&D into technology for our security. Also, how many jobs would that have created in our country.

Now, with Iraq we are more unsafe than before 9/11. Our military is near collapse and they want to basically privatize the military it looks like. Nice, that way Halliburton could have their own military forces.

Wake up America, especially before Nov 2008.
